HVB current capacity

Does anyone know the current capacity of the Lithium high voltage battery?  I understand the nominal voltage of the battery is around 300 volts.  If that's true, that would suggest a current capacity of around 25 Ah.

I'm also curious if anyone knows the cell make-up of the battery. In other words, how many cells in series, and whether there is more than one string in parallel?

According to the wiring diagram the HVB has a 225 amp fuse in series with the positive terminal and the HVB service disconnect.  There is no indication where that fuse is located.  It doesn't appear in any of the fuse panels.

Thanks for the link. It helped a lot.

So if I understand this correctly, the nominal HVB voltage would be approximately 302.4 volts (3.6V x 84).  Maximum charge voltage would be approximately 344.4 volts (4.1 X 84). If I assume a 25 Ah current rating, the capacity of the battery would be around 7,560 Wh.  That starts to make sense.

A fuse value of 225 amps would limit the power to the electric motor (plus everything else) to 68,000 watts (302.4V X 225). Given the electric motor is rated for 88kW, I guess I can believe that.

Ford publishes the value on a 2013 Ford Fusion Energi as:

Battery Peak Power - Charge Sustain Mode-35 KW

 (charging)

Battery Peak Power - Charge Depletion Mode-68 KW

 (discharging)

Battery size 7.6KW lithiom-Ion

MY actual amperage value at MAX acceleration (before ICE kicks in) is 208 amps (discharging) (320V x 208A = 66.5KW)

MY actual amperage value at MAX braking is 110 amps (regen charging) (320V x 110A = 35.2KW)

My actual voltage is about 320V

MY actual battery temperature 85F

The Ford documentation that I have shows the 2013 Ford Fusion Energi Mega Fuse F8 on the HV Battery rated as 275A
