I have done this several times lately, but my foot on the brake, but only lightly then shift into D. I am not pushing hard enough to activate the hydraulic brakes, just in the "recovery" area of the pedal travel, so no actual braking is being done. Car jumps forward a couple inches, but my driveway only has a slight slope so its not a big deal.
