I saw a topic on this and wanted to follow it up with a poll. I am leaning towards purchasing something soon even though my car has been pretty trouble free. So much technology on this car, and I think that when I do go to sell the car the warranty will have some value to the purchaser.  Thanks in advance for your help.

I purchased my plans from my dealer.  I forgot to research this before I drove down to San Diego to buy the car.  So for my piece of mind I bought the plans even if I paid too much for them.

The only unusual thing that occurred besides having the TSB's performed is one of my tail lights went out; the unit on the trunk lid.  I happened to notice it one day as I was charging the car.

Ford had to replace the entire unit since the LED strip failed.  When I called to make an appointment my service guy said, "It should be easy since we'll just have to replace the bulb."  I said, "This is a Titanium so I don't think it's just a bulb."  Sure enough when he looked at it he said they did not stock this unit so they would have to order it from Ford.  This was covered under warranty.

My car is at the dealer right now since I'm having them install the Aluminum Accelerator Pedal and they wanted to take a picture of the new tail light so Ford has a record of the work performed.

I hope nothing else fails because like meyersnole says, the car has been pretty trouble free.  But I have these plans to fall back on!!   :)

Would have been $1069 if I went with the $100 deductible

Unfortunately I missed the one year, but still think this will be worth it. My driving habits have changed a lot recently so I am not sure how many miles to purchase.

@Russael are you going with Flood because you have found them to be cheapest?

They're the same price as Anderson, last I looked.  My stealership was non-negotiable with their ESP contract price.

That is a great price. Their quote to me was a little higher than Flood, who seem to be the lowest cost right now (at least for the 5 and 6 year premium care plans I am looking at...)

  • 2 weeks later...

I got from the buying dealer with a printout from BOTH http://www.floodfordesp.com/  and http://andersonandkoch-ford-warranty.com/

They were ready for me as the finance guy said he was warned about me. I told him match this or I get from them, he matched it. After I got back up off the floor... I bought it from him. He said it was $50 cheaper than what they offer their own employees (which was weird as how fast would the word got out about floodfordesp.com's prices).

I am thinking it was around $1200 for the 7 year, $100 ded., 100k mile one. There was just way too much new stuff on this car for me to go years 4 to 7, which is when I figured something expensive might go, without some coverage and peace of mind. I certainly wasn't going to pay the $2000 price they first offered.

I am finally able to answer my own poll, thank you all for your help.

I purchased the 7 year, 100,000 mile, $100 deductible from my dealership.  I swung by to see them yesterday when I took my car in for oil change and tire rotation where the finance officer offered me the plan for $2500. I had forgotten what it was online, so I took the information and told them I would call.

Initially when I called back and informed them of the $1215 quote online he said he was unable to match that... looked up the cost and then said yes. Was a little surprised how easy that was. Yeah for internet!

I too use to be a 30-40k a year guy, really glad to have my 1.5 mile each way commute now...

Also, is the battery and drive motors covered in any of these ESP plans?

The warranty that comes with the car exceeds these plans @ 8 years and 100,000 miles for the battery and hybrid powertrain. The 100,000 miles is higher in California and some other states with better consumer laws.
