Backup camera option

Can a backup camera be installed later by the dealer?   The car has NAV and backup sensors, but no camera.

I doubt it can be installed by the dealer, Ford uses backup cameras as a way to sell other options.

Does the car have the touchscreen? If so I imagine the Lockpick + Chinese Import Camera solution would work for the Fusion as well. However, it does take a fair amount of time although you might find a local after-market installer that can do it. Here's a link to a C-Max forum: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/3284-aftermarket-backup-camera/

I thought adding Nav automatically adds rear camera, that's crazy that it doesn't. Have you confirmed that it doesn't, or is it just not listed on features?

I haven't absolutely confirmed it, but looked at the window sticker online and it showed nav and backup sensors, but no backup camera under options.

But it's a moot point now because I found another one that does have the camera with NAV and I'm buying it tomorrow!!   It's a better color too and

the dealer is discounting it heaivily, almost $7000 under MSRP sticker price.

You might be right though, there might be some other option package it had which included the camera but it just wasn't listed as an option.

Thanks to everyone that responded!

Awesome!  I was going to recommend finding what you want to begin with.  After using my backup camera I don't think I'll ever buy another car without it.

Trying to figure out the best way to get that functionality in the Boss 302 now.  Probably go with an aftermarket radio/display.  I think it's Kenwood who has one that interfaces with the TPMS, probably with it's own sensors, that displays tire pressure on the screen for each one.  Handy in a track car.

I used to think backup cameras were stupid, until I rented a car that had one.  Now I don't know how I ever lived without one!!

Thats great. So your 7k under MSRP not including the tax credit correct? This is a 2014 right, not a 2013? 2013's were 4k more expensive then 2014s (did a blanket lowering of all MSRPs by 4k for 2014 models, so 2013s are artificially 4k more expensive).

My Acura TL use to show me the tire pressure for each tire... I actually miss that.

Couple technologies on this car that I will not want to skip in the future:

ACC -- Adaptive Cruise is soooooooooo much better than I even thought it would be.

BLIS -- Warnings backing up and in blind spot... this should be standard on all cars!

Backup camera -- Glad this will be standard on all cars -- not sure why it has to take until 2018 for the car companies to comply

Probably hooked for life on battery / electric driving... so cool not to have to worry about the price of gas -- might consider BEV next (min 120 to 150 mile range)

Yes, Its a 2014 SE. MSRP on the sticker was 38585 and I got it for 31000 plus a $590 processing fee ant tax and title fees. I think they are trying to unload the remaining 14s before the 15s arrive. I picked it up this morning and have spent the whole day trying to figure out all the gadgets and information screens. I think I understand about 20% of the stuff so far. The dealer was about a 4 hour drive from my house so I played with everything as I was driving home. Theres a lot to learn about these cars!

Interestingly, they did have a 2013 sitting on the lot, they are asking too much for it, I cant imagine anyone would buy it since they want almost the same for it as a 2014! A friend of mine offered them $26.000 for it and they turned it down.
