Lightfoot Posted July 24, 2014 at 01:10 AM Report Share Posted July 24, 2014 at 01:10 AM Is it just a cosmetic feature, or does it have any real world driving value, especially in terms of MPG? I doubt FFE owners are going to be travelling at speeds where the downward force a rear spoiler may create would be of benefit. I certainly like it better than the higher profile spoiler that I've seen on earlier model Fusions, but I'm not sure that I would elect to have it on there if the choice was up to me. Isn't it just extra weight that could even impair the vehicle's gas mileage?
jeff_h Posted July 24, 2014 at 12:29 PM Report Share Posted July 24, 2014 at 12:29 PM If there is a difference I would say it is extremely small, IMHO it's mainly there for looks only, and for those that don't want it there was a way to place an order with a 'spoiler delete' for those who didn't want it, at least in the 2013 model (but I *think* I may have seen a thread that this code is no longer available for 2015 orders, not sure). Cairo94507 Posted July 26, 2014 at 12:23 AM Report Share Posted July 26, 2014 at 12:23 AM I ordered my FFET w/o the rear spoiler ad then I ordered the low-profile rear spoiler from ford and had it painted to match and installed it. I like it a lot better.
Tom Ryan Posted September 5, 2014 at 04:05 AM Report Share Posted September 5, 2014 at 04:05 AM There used to be a delete option on the 2014 models for the Titanium but Ford eliminated it for 2015 due to the low take rate.I found this on one of the sites used by fleet buyers about changes in ordering specs. I just ordered a new 2015 Ford Fusion Titaniumlast Saturday and the dealer told me there was no delete option for the spoiler even though the 2014 brocure I had showed a delete option. After I ordered the vehicle, I decided to search the web to see if it was true that you could not delete the spoiler on the Titanium and founda site saying it was eliminated because of the low take rate! HotLap Posted September 9, 2014 at 06:48 PM Report Share Posted September 9, 2014 at 06:48 PM Cairo, I'd enjoy seeing a pic of your reconfigured spoiler, I'm not all that much of a fan of the one on my '14 Titanium either...
