Looking for ESP Advice

Hi everyone, I'm brand new to the forum so please forgive me if this is the wrong place to post this question. I'm in the process of looking at ESP for my Energi and wanted to get some input from owners on what they thought, if they had them, worth the price etc... My brother is the one who got me into my new Energi and recommended me to check out Warrick Ford's options. here's the link if you're interested (http://www.warrickfordwarrantyonline.com/ford-energi-extended-warranty). From the people I've talked to and whatnot they seem to be a reputable and good company so that's who I'm leaning twoards now. Just wanted some input from you all as to who you use, if you've used Warrick, if you think ESP's are worth it etc... Thanks everyone -Ashley.

First off let me say that I think extended warranties are a complete rip off and just a way to increase profits.... until I saw that you could get out to 7 year - 100k mile for ~1200. That's like 1 or 2 things breaking at it pays for itself! I plan to keep the car at least 10 years, so having warranty coverage out that long is a huge re-assurance.

I also did Flood Ford based on peoples comments here. Its the same warranty as anyone else, just the people selling it are charging less then most.

This topic comes up a lot so I just pinned a poll I created back in April on the topic. I also linked the original post on this topic just under the poll as it has a lot of great insight from the board. You can find this in the buying section... I would normally post a link, but if am traveling now and away from my PC.

Thanks for the source!   EXCEPT  THAT!!!!!

I live in Florida, and apparently Florida bans online car insurance from these companies or they are not licensed to sell in Florida....... Grrrrr!!!

So I was wondering if I used an out of state address to purchase the policy???.  Has anyone moved into Florida and transferred their warranty?

  • 1 year later...

Last night I helped my parents research & purchase an extended warranty for their C-Max Energi. They're at 35 months of ownership now, so they're running out of time. Many have previously mentioned Flood Ford on here for purchasing the Ford ESP online. Another Ford dealer that sells the ESP cheaply online is Anderson & Koch Ford in North Branch, MN. Previously whenever I had checked, the prices were virtually equal between the two dealers. Last night when we checked, Flood Ford was almost $200 higher than Anderson & Koch. Add-on items such as first day rental, lighting coverage, etc were also much more expensive at Flood ($125) versus Anderson & Koch ($40). I wanted to share this for anyone else considering buying the ESP online to check out Anderson & Koch Ford.

I just did a quick compare and pricing was the same at both places.  Even the add-on were the same.

Interesting! I just priced it again for the C-Max Energi and included screenshots below so that you can see the differences. It may be based on vehicle year, state or something else. Their C-Max Energi is a 2013 & has only 19,500 miles on it in 3 years. My parents are retired and drive only about 10,000 miles per year between both of their cars combined!

I just put in bogus numbers, but did it with a 2015 Fusion Energi 8 years 125,000 miles with current miles at 35000 in Minnesota and pricing was the same for both.  Maybe the high miles has something to do with it.

EDIT:  I just noticed, I was looking at 8 year only.  The other years are different pricing.
