garymkrieg Posted August 25, 2014 at 12:45 AM Report Share Posted August 25, 2014 at 12:45 AM (edited) Looking at the PremiumCARE brochure it states "Rental Vehicle Benefits − Provides coverage for up to 10 days of rental for a covered repair". When I read that I got the impression that that was one of the included benefits. But when you actually select your plan they then offer "First Day Rental" and "Enhanced Rental" for an extra charge. So to get the "Rental Vehicle Benefits" you have to purchase those as an additional charge, is that correct? jeff_h Posted August 25, 2014 at 01:06 AM Report Share Posted August 25, 2014 at 01:06 AM Below is the standard text on rentals from my ESP contract - which makes it look like it is a separate thing... 6C. RENTAL CAR REIMBURSEMENT: ON NEW AND USED CORE COVERAGES, COMPONENT WRAP COVERAGES, OR SUPER DUTY COVERAGES - You may be eligible for rental car reimbursement if: (i) the servicing or repair facility determines that the service or repair is: (a) covered under this Agreement or a New Vehicle Limited Warranty and any extended powertrain warranty, or (b) the result of a Ford Motor Company manufacturer’s recall, and (ii) You rent the vehicle from a Ford or Lincoln Mercury dealership or other commercial agency. If You elect the First Day Rental Delete Option, an additional eligibility term for Rental Car Reimbursement is the Vehicle must be kept overnight by the repair facility because it was inoperable or would become inoperable if it was continued to be operated. If You meet all of the eligibility requirements set forth herein, We will reimburse You for vehicle rental charges You actually incur up to $30 per day for Ford, Mercury and Competitive Make Vehicles and $36 per day for Lincoln vehicles for up to 10 days or until the repair is complete, whichever occurs first. Rental Car Reimbursement starts when the Vehicle is delivered to the Selling Dealer or other Ford Motor Company franchised dealer for service and ends when the repair is completed.6D. FIRST DAY RENTAL - If Your Vehicle is a Ford, Lincoln or Mercury Vehicle, You received First Day Rental with Your NEW OR USED CORE COVERAGES AND CPO UPGRADE COVERAGE. We will reimburse You for vehicle rental charges You actually incur up to $30 per day for Ford, Mercury and Competitive Make Vehicles and $36 per day for Lincoln vehicles for up to 10 days or until the repair is complete, whichever occurs first. ENHANCED RENTAL OPTION: This option is available on all NEW AND USED CORE COVERAGE, (except Police Plan coverage), RENTALCARE COVERAGES AND SUPER DUTY COVERAGE.If You purchased the Enhanced Rental Option with any of the Coverages referenced above, We will reimburse You for vehicle rental charges You actually incur up to $75 per day for up to 10 days for all plans except RentalCARE and for up to 3 days on RentalCare or until the repair is complete, whichever occurs first. However, in the PremiumCare brochure, it doesn't say anything about basic or enhanced rental coverage, just says that rental coverage for up to 10 days is included. http://www.floodfordesp.com/pdf/PremiumCARE_Ford_ESP.pdf Hybridbear
Doug0716 Posted August 25, 2014 at 01:28 AM Report Share Posted August 25, 2014 at 01:28 AM It looks like that benefit is for non-overnight repairs (and covered maintenance if you buy a maintenance plan I think?) Q: Does my plan cover a rental vehicle?A: Yes. All Ford ESPs cover a rental vehicle for overnight repairs of covered components. The free rental will be arranged by the servicing Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealership. You can also purchase First Day Rental and receive a free rental for same day covered repairs.From:http://www.troy-ford-extended-warranty.com/Ford-Extended-Warranty-Questions-s/2581.htm Hybridbear
