Hardp Posted September 5, 2014 at 01:10 PM Report Share Posted September 5, 2014 at 01:10 PM I've had my '13 Energi for less than a year. One three occasions, I've plugged it in but the light on the 120V charger holds steady and the car doesn't charge (and if I look at the charging status on the MyFordMobile app it says it's not plugged in). The third time this happened was last night. I tried unplugging and re-plugging it in and that didn't help so I unplugged it, started the car let it "run" for about 30 seconds, turned it off and plugged in the charger and it charged fine. Does anyone know why this happens?
jeff_h Posted September 5, 2014 at 02:00 PM Report Share Posted September 5, 2014 at 02:00 PM (edited) We've had this on her car a couple times in the first month or two after she got it... my guess (and only a guess) is that she opened the driver's door before shutting off the car, which we believe was the case in both cases when it occurred on her car. However we've also run tests on that theory and other times it hasn't made a difference, which is why I emphasize that it's just a guess. However, in both cases when we got in and cycled the car on and off (with door closed) that did the trick and the charging then started as expected.
