Hardp Posted September 22, 2014 at 09:46 PM Report Share Posted September 22, 2014 at 09:46 PM A large quantity of HE laundry detergent leaked into the rear carpet. I'm on the road for another two weeks. Any ideas how to get it up? I don't have access to a wet vac. I read where baking soda will absorb most of it and then I can just vacuum it out. Thoughts? Advice?
Eric4539 Posted September 23, 2014 at 05:00 AM Report Share Posted September 23, 2014 at 05:00 AM I don't have experience with this issue, but everything I have read says to soak up as much of the excess laundry detergent as possible. A couple people said to use paper towels to soak up as much as you can. I suppose this could take a lot of paper towels. Another person said to use kitty litter but you will need a vacuum to get all that kitty litter up. Once the excess is soaked up, people said to keep wetting the area lightly and use a shop vac to get all that liquid up. Sorry to say that everyone says it's not easy and it takes a long time to get all that detergent out of the carpet. Perseverance is key. Good luck!
