Sync Update?

Does anyone happen to have this tool??  I can't seem to find it on the syncmyride.com site (Owners Site) anymore.  I still see documents that reference it, but no download link.

Is this what you are looking for?

The reply that I got was to take the car to my dealer to have the update installed.  Sorry but I'm not interested in wasting 4 hours of my life sitting in their waiting room while they figure out how to do it.  I downloaded the file that was posted on the hybrid forum, I think, and installed it myself.  I did the report upload after the install and Ford Owner now shows my car at 3.8.

Any chance on posting the file on this forum so we don't have to create an id on the hybrid forum to access attached documents?

Would be nice if Ford could figure out why a lot of us are showing up to date at 3.6.2. (Checked again just now)

The Ford Sync team requested that we do NOT download any linked file, etc.  Issue with that would be liability.  If, say I posted the file on Google Drive or Dropbox or whatever, someone downloads the file and bricks their Sync system, they could come after me and say I posted a bogus file.

I can say that the file on the Hybrid forum and my girlfriend's 2012 files were identical (I obviously had to download the files straight from Ford for the Focus shindig), but that still doesn't mean every download will be the same, but I strongly suspect it will be.

I wound up having to register on the Hybrid form.  Wasted username since I likely won't be posting there.

Thanks Russael, I think I will just wait... I prvt messaged FordIVTteam to see if there is any effort to understand why our systems show up to date on the SYNC Software Updates page.

I personally got tired of waiting.  Things like this have notoriously long waiting periods.  Ford already has all the impacted VINs... they just need to turn them on.  As to why JUST our vehicles were barricaded from that update... no idea.

I was hoping that particular update would've fixed my texting issue, but it turns out that was something with Google Hangouts not cooperating with it, so I switched SMS programs and now it works.

Somewhere in the Sync section of Ford Owner is a status checker tool that will generate the status upload file to report the car's current status.

Thank you murphy.  I finally got around to running the Status Checker on my Fusion.  It generated the XML file and I was able to upload to the owner site.  It now says I'm "up to date" with v3.8

Thanks again for the help!

  • 5 months later...

Finally, SyncMyRide.com allowed me to download Sync2-V3.8.   I now have the latest version of Sync installed.  Previously, whenever I logged into SyncMyRide.com, it erroneously reported that my prior version of Sync was up to date.

Same here, I updated a week or two ago - I had given up on checking for it and then logged into fordowner.com to log the latest oil change and clicked in sync since I was in there and there it was.
