HotLap Posted October 28, 2014 at 02:45 PM Report Share Posted October 28, 2014 at 02:45 PM All, I did a search on "noise cancelling speakers" but didn't find anything and there does not appear to be mention of it in the OM. Exactly how does this system work and is it always on in the background regardless of music being on or off, is it adjustable, etc? And, why is it there, are the electric or ICE really that loud or bad sounding? Also was reading another thread on the Active Grill Shutters and it appears we are all guessing (based on personal observation) how they work...is there something from Ford that explains precisely how they should work? I checked mine last night and do have the grill shutters in both the upper and lower grills. Anyone shed more light on this?
murphy Posted October 28, 2014 at 03:56 PM Report Share Posted October 28, 2014 at 03:56 PM It's called active noise cancellation. It uses three microphones in the cabin, it's always on, and it is not adjustable. http://corporate.ford.com/news-center/press-releases-detail/pr-2013-ford-fusion-hybrid2658-active-37160 HotLap and Hybridbear
