murphy Posted December 9, 2014 at 01:43 PM Report Share Posted December 9, 2014 at 01:43 PM I got the letter yesterday also. It has been showing up on my VHRs for two months.
Russael Posted December 9, 2014 at 03:59 PM Report Share Posted December 9, 2014 at 03:59 PM I suppose the bright side is we'll get the latest software for that module. Too bad they won't upgrade all the other modules at the same time. I probably won't take it in until I'm due for my first oil change in May. jeff_h Posted December 9, 2014 at 04:32 PM Report Share Posted December 9, 2014 at 04:32 PM I got the letter for the blue car yesterday, didn't get it for the red one as the PCM update was done last month -- but on the downside, ever since then my VHR can't tell the status of the restraints or fluid levels, don't know if maybe they didn't clear all of the error codes or what may have happened. But no warning lights show, so I'm holding off until they call that the new charge ring has arrived and I'll ask them to check it when I take it back in. And just as we took the blue one on a trip to FL I get told from the back seat "the plug's not working" and just like happened with the red car, the spring mechanism on the inside of the 120V outlet are not grabbing the prongs and somehow stuck 'open', so I'll get one of those on rder when I take that one for the 14E02 PCM update. Cheap supplier components I guess, but doesn't reflect well on Ford. Hybridbear

murphy Posted December 16, 2014 at 06:13 PM Report Share Posted December 16, 2014 at 06:13 PM I had it done last week. It took them 4 hours. The service writer said they were having trouble clearing all of the error codes. I hope they got them all.

And I ran another VHR a few days ago, after the above post... the 'system unavailable' for restraints was back, but the others were all 'OK'... so then I tried again yesterday and now all are 'OK' status again. SteveEnergi Posted December 17, 2014 at 12:16 PM Report Share Posted December 17, 2014 at 12:16 PM I had this applied last week when I was in for my snow tires. It only took an hour and was a non event. The only hassle was all of my custom settings were reset to factory settings, so I had to go back through and apply my customizations. The clock was also reset to 12-hour from 24-hour.Good to know. I don't remember this happening to our Energi, but it was so new at the time that I hadn't gone through all the menus yet. My parents are having this update done today on their C-Max Energi so I'll help them review any settings that may have been changed.
