You will file for it on your 2014 tax return (if you purchased car in 2014). If you use Turbo Tax or other tax prep software, it will ask you if you purchased a qualifying Plug-in electric vehicle. If you leased (like I did) then you can't claim it as the lessor (Ford Credit) will subtract it from the capitalized cost calculation of the vehicle for the lease payments. Your state may have other available incentives. The tax form you will use is the 8936. TurboTax and other softwares have this form built in.
