Considering moving from Cadillac to Ford

Hello, everyone! I currently drive a 2014 Cadillac ELR, but am thinking of switching to the 2015/16 Ford Fusion Energi Titanium instead. So I'll be posting some questions in the relevant threads... hopefully not too many! I have a test drive scheduled today, and I'm very excited to try out the Ford.

If anyone isn't familiar with the Cadillac ELR, it originally carried a $75,995 MSRP and is a two-door coupe with a modified Chevy Volt drivetrain (so all-electric driving for about 36 miles then assist from the gas engine, 0-60 in about 9 seconds all EV or 8 seconds with the engine helping).

The reason I'm thinking of switching is because the Ford Fusion Energi is half the price but offers much of the same features (driver assistance package, adaptive cruise control, memory seats, etc.) and even some features not available on the ELR (cooled front seats, seating for five, etc.).

However, the Fusion's EV range is half of the ELR's (approx. 18-24 miles vs. 32-40 miles), and the EV-only acceleration for the Fusion as described on these forums appears to be extremely anemic (0-60 in 16 seconds? Really?!)

So I hope to join your ranks soon, assuming the test drive goes well. My commute is only 18 miles each way, and I can charge at work, so the Fusion may fit my needs even with the smaller battery.

Blastphemy, welcome to the forum. How did the test drive go? I recently upgraded from a Fusion Hybrid SE to an Energi Titanium and love it. 18 miles commute is easily doable in the FFE, i normally get between 22 and 26 miles on a charge.

You'll love all the features on the Titanium, i especially like the adaptive cruise control and the cooled seats.
