I wanted to share this with everyone who may have lost the small piece of paper with the factory code that is 5 digits. There is a faster and easier way than dissembling the smart fuse box to read the back.

You will need both smart keys and a scratch pad for notes:

 Displaying the Factory Set Code

With Integrated Keyhead Transmitters

Note: You will need to have two programmed passive anti-theft keys for this procedure.

To display the factory-set code in the information display:

The factory-set code will display for a few seconds.

Note: The code may not display until after any other warning messages first display.

With Intelligent Access Keys

Note: You will need to have two programmed intelligent access keys for this procedure.

To display the factory-set code in the information display:

E147165

NOTE

The factory-set code will appear in the information display for a few seconds.

Note: The code may not display until after any other warning messages first display.

    1. Open the center console.

    2. Insert a key into the small slot under the aux plug (left front inner arm console).

    3. Press the START/STOP button once and wait a few seconds.

    4. Press the START/STOP button after 5 seconds.

    5. Insert the second programmed key into the backup slot, then press the START/STOP button.

    6. Press the START/STOP button again and remove the key.

    7. Wait a few seconds and the code will appear on the left smart screen.

I hope this helps anyone who doesn't have or lost this code. The local dealer wanted $60.00 for this code. So for a little time you can get it yourself.

I have updated this specifically for the Ford Fusion Energi. The manual shows how it is done with a regular key. Thanks to Openair's reply I was able to tweak the actual instructions from page 59 of the owners manual.

These instructions are also in the manual.  For the 2014 manual: in the Keyless Entry section of the Locks section, page 59, under the heading "Displaying the Factory Set Code."

Are the digits displayed in the correct order in a 2014?  They are displayed in reverse order in my 2013.

I am not sure and I will have to go back and check my manual for backwards/forwards for the code. The dealer wanted $60 bucks to get the code. I am usually last to the party so I thought I would share what I found out. I will have to go read the book and check page 59.

Also the original dealer should be able to provide the codes also once you have proved you are the owner I did this in March 2019 with a Michigan dealer they wanted a copy of driver licence and current registration. In least than thirty minutes I had they codes (above method would not work I only had 1 fob)
