There are just so many great choices available out there for chargers. In the end I decided to go with the JuceBox Pro 40 amp charger. I chose this unit since it has WIFI and an android application. Reflecting back I would have not purchased this WIFI unit again. I should have spent the $50 more for the "smart" WIFI to determine when "Clean Coal" is charging the car. I found the installation to be straight forward without major complications (more work went into installing the outlet). This job only required a drill and a screwdriver for the bracket. I like the fact that this unit is 40 amps and can handle a lot more car down the road. Probably the most complicated part was getting the JuiceBox to communicate with the home WIFI. Then again it took me over 30 minutes to get the car to communicate with my WIFI. I will keep people posted on how the unit is functioning and if the long haul value is there. Also, I like to support the smaller business owners who have a product that is assembled in the USA with forigen parts (see later post for the exact ratio). This product meets those requirements and the support has been great also. Now on to the unboxing / installation: The box was smaller than expected for the charging unit. I was surprised that the unit came in less than two days. I ordered direct from the website http://www.emotorwerks.com. I I had a few questions prior to ordering and they where quick to get back to me. Started to open up to see the content. I spent extra for the licence plates ($7.99). I probably just ordered all of it for the plate frame. :spend: Finished removing the unit and parts from the box. Comes with a wall bracket, unit bracket, Plug (14-50p RV plug), charging cable, charging cable bracket. Easy to follow instructions with photos and a charging etiquette hanger. The hanger goes on when traveling to public chargers. The other side is the opposite saying not unplug. Installed the fancy bracket to the wall. I had to add one more screw for the bottom of the JuiceBox. Here is the bracket for the back of the JuiceBox (third mount point). Bracket mounted to the rear of the unit. Doing a dry run to see if everything is looking good. How it looks fully complete and installed. I do not have any photos from the WIFI setup. Also, the unit is portable for trips I would just need to get some adapters. I sent them an enquiry 3 days ago and they still haven't gotten back to me yet, this was one of the reasons I ordered from Clippercreek who replied within an hour of my initial enquiry. How funny! Most of them are not that fashionable in the least. I was between Clippercreek and eMotor Werks. I really like the idea of a WIFI set up... Either way I am under my set budget of 900 for the whole project (outlet and all). I even missed out on a nice unit on craigslist used that came new with the leaf for $500 but thats ok. Nothing that uses electronic components is 100% made in the USA. It might be assembled in the USA, but the actual components are probably 90% foreign. I have seen a trend of assembled in the US. It is hard to say but I can see all those components made here. I will need to clarify what the ratio is for the parts here vs pan asian continent. We are a small company, and have been plagued by some communication system issues. That said, we're pretty on top of it now. In this case here, you are communicating directly with me. Not our support. I am pretty on top of my comms (which are jam packed), but our general support has better response time. We are still working on staffing our support, as evident by the fact that I replied to your initial request. The case you heard about (3 days) sounds very long. That may have been over a weekend, or the contact may have been to an invalid address. It is rare, in recent times, that we drop comms for that long. USA: What follows is a (basic) breakdown: Enclosure - metal sourced from USA, manufactured in Cleveland OH, manufactured further in Santa Clara CA by Hill Mfg. Input Cable - cable manufactured in China, component + plug assembly in Michigan. Output (J1772) Cable - cable manufactured in China, J1772 assembly, QA, final assembly in Mexico (I think) by ITT. Warehousing in Southern CA. PCB (board) - Designed here, PCB raw sourced from China, SMT assembly, soldering, etc. in Fremont by TTS. This system is great for price and technology. If someone wants something more mainstream from a large company I would recommend going that way. Economically speaking, you don't want Americans making the cheapest things on the planet trying to make a living. You want Americans making the expensive stuff.
