Blastphemy Posted February 1, 2016 at 07:05 PM Report Share Posted February 1, 2016 at 07:05 PM I've looked at every setting in the car and read the relevant pages of the manual several times, and I can't find a solution to this problem. Frequently, when I'm on the highway and there's bad traffic ahead, the navigation tells me to exit to side streets in order to bypass the congestion. Yet I have the car's preferences set to NOT do this, and whenever I get a pop-up warning about traffic, I choose Ignore. "Have the system avoid traffic problems automatically" is NOT enabled in my car, and "Switch traffic alert notifications on and off" is set to OFF. So why is my car still displaying traffic alerts and trying to automatically bypass traffic problems? (My Sirius/XM subscription ended months ago, so I don't even know where those traffic warnings are even coming from.)
FordIVTteam Posted February 2, 2016 at 04:36 PM Report Share Posted February 2, 2016 at 04:36 PM Hey Blastphemy, The complimentary subscription to Travel Link should be longer than the radio portion of the SiriusXM trial. Starting on 2015 MY vehicles equipped with MFT and navigation receive Travel Link for 5 years. Were you able to update your system to 3.8 yet? Also, you may want to play around with the other route settings. Depending on which preferred route you have selected, it could be taking you off the highway. Try changing ALWAYS USE PREFERRED ROUTE to NO, and AVOID TRAFFIC PROBLEMS to MANUAL. Let me know if that helps with the highway issue. Blastphemy Posted February 3, 2016 at 08:02 PM Author Report Share Posted February 3, 2016 at 08:02 PM I have the latest version of SYNC (with Siri Eyes Free), I already have "Always Use Preferred Route" set to NO, and I already have "Avoid Traffic Problems" set to MANUAL. The car still tries to take me off the highway when there's congestion or construction ahead.
