Modem in Car 3G Upgrade?

I started with myfordmobile support because I didn't expect much out of the dealer. After a month or so I got back "It appears the issue is not with your app, but with the Vehicle HMI. Please make an appointment with your dealership to have them further investigate." I haven't bothered to take it back yet. My fuse is starting to get pretty worn from pulling it out so many times. The charge profile locations haven't worked for me either since the replacement.

I write to Ford every month asking if this nonsense has been fixed. Every month I get a reply thanking me for my "patience."

 

Well, because of my "patience," Ford lost a sale today. I was at the dealership for service and saw someone admiring a 2017 FFE Platinum. I told him about the problems I was having with my modem and Value Charging and he decided to go visit a Chevy dealership for a Volt.

 

Actually, Ford lost two sales, because I also was admiring a Burgundy 2017 FFE Titanium, and with the $8,000+ rebates applied to new leases, my payment would have barely gone up after turning in my 2015. I almost did it, too, until I remembered that I wasn't buying another Ford again because of the modem issue (because if Ford can't fix that, what sort of torture would I have to endure for a real problem?!)

The modem upgrade for my 2014 has been backordered at my local dealer for many months - just called them and they said it still hasn't come!   Has anyone else heard about a national backorder on these things?    From other comments here, I'm wondering if they had so many problems that they've halted shipments until they sort it out.

For everyone waiting for their modem...don't feel like you're missing out...  I got mine replaced  on February 22nd, and MFM hasn't worked since.  Now I can't set Value Charge times at my house..I have to remember to go outside every night right before bed to plug in my Fusion Energi....   As soon as your modem gets replaced, odds are high that everything will stop working... I had to wait a month for mine...

 

Let's hope the MFM team "working on it" actually comes up with a fix soon!  This is ridiculous, but makes me a bit more at ease knowing I wasn't going crazy.
