Hardp Posted May 12, 2016 at 09:44 PM Report Share Posted May 12, 2016 at 09:44 PM I tuned to a Sirius channel and it said "My Key Restricted." How did that happen and how can I unrestrict it?

How did that happen and how can I unrestrict it?The key you are using is a MyKey. Get your other key and use it to turn the MyKey back into a master key. murphy Posted May 13, 2016 at 01:55 PM Report Share Posted May 13, 2016 at 01:55 PM But how did they restricted in the first place?Someone used a master key to create a MyKey. It's described in the Owner's Manual. The car comes with two master keys. One can be turned into a MyKey to provide restricted use for a teen for example. Hardp Posted May 14, 2016 at 04:07 PM Author Report Share Posted May 14, 2016 at 04:07 PM I cleared My Key and my restricted Sirius channel played just; then I re-created My Key and the channel was "My Key restricted" again. I certainly didn't restrict it. I gather My Key is a "parental control" that makes certain features unchangeable. So if I'm the only driver I don't need it, right? It's for parents to restrict what their teens can do while driving.
jeff_h Posted May 14, 2016 at 08:27 PM Report Share Posted May 14, 2016 at 08:27 PM Right. It's for parents to restrict what their teens can do while driving. Or for rental cars, where they use it to limit top speed, I had a Fusion rental a few years ago that was set up like that.
