I have tried two different phones. It will charge, it will just take a really long time as the port doesn't seem to be able to provide a lot of power. Most chargers provide 5V/1A at least, with tablet chargers being more in the 2.1A range. Not sure how much current the USB port in the car is rated for, but definitely nowhere near that. If you really need to get meaningful charge on your phone while you're driving, it's probably best to use a 12V cigarette plug adapter instead of the built-in port. jeff_h 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
