New version of MFM

Downloaded a new version of MFM this morning. Mostly a cosmetic ui styling update that came with a functionality cost. The set passcode function is broken and the remote windows up down function is gone.

Also unlike the old app continues to display my 5:45am go time in the upcoming go time section for hours past that time. Likely now just displays today's go times in this section instead of the next go times as the old app did. Also only displays the switch to skip a go time next to this already passed go time making this skip feature broken for all but the first go time of the day.

If you haven't updated yet, don't. There is no real benefit. Only broken and missing features.

Ah, you haven't tried remote starting with it yet I see. That doesn't work either.

I've had the car for a year and a half and this is the first update I've seen to the MFM app. I'm expecting that by the time they get around to updating it again, I'll be driving my Tesla Model 3.

I was surprised to see MFM app's new look.  I had updated the app but didn't use it until I was traveling.  I was at the airport and launched the app.  That was the first time that I saw the new look.  It took several attempts to set the passcode but I was able to set my passcode and it works fine.

I am able to use the Lock, Unlock and Start functions on the updated app.  It seems to take several seconds for the car to respond but these functions do work for me.

Yes, I did get the set passcode to eventually work this morning but I had to sign in and push ok to set a passcode about 6 times before it actually advanced to that screen.

The remote start does work but sometimes you have to wait for it to finish updating first.

All the other bugs still stand. My phones back button also doesn't work correctly with the app and I have to use the back button within the app instead.

Still would have preferred they wait to release this purely cosmetic update until it was functional and not removed functions like windows up down.

When I lock or unlock, I get immediate feedback from the app (the spinning "sunflower") and it works. When I tap the Start icon there is no response whatsoever - Nothing visual in the app indicating it registered my tap, and the car doesn't do anything either.

When you tap "start" do you get visual feedback in the app?

My car is always plugged in.

When I click Start, at the very top of the screen it says "Start command processing" with a dark blue background across the top of the app.  Once my car starts, the message says, "Started successfully" with a green background across the top.  When I tap Stop, it says "Stopped command processing" with a dark blue background, then "Stopped successfully" with a green background across the top of the app.

My app says v 3.0.50

I hope Ford is monitoring this forum.  I am severely ticked off at the new MFM app for IOS.  It just doesn't work.  It's getting HOT in the Carolina's and I cannot precondition my car.  The remote start just doesn't work.  I keep getting timeout errors.  BTW Ford I am a seasoned application developer that works for a major corporation in the US.  You need help!!! This app sucks!  Also may I mention I am getting the timeout errors even when I try to use myfordmobile.com from my Internet browser.

I never had problems until the Major update to the MFM IOS application.

I have the same issue where the car just will not update when at work, however it works just fine at home. This is an AT&T issue that Ford needs to fix. I paid for a car that promised 5 years of MFM. If I can't access the car because they didn't have the foresight to use a modern antenna design, that's what you might call a material breach of the agreement Ford promised me.

Ford needs to get a plan together and replace these 2G antennas, AT&T is actively turning off 2G service nationwide, in some places well before the 12/31/16 date.

I believe the fine print says that Ford is not responsible if the cellular provider decides to discontinue coverage.

2G seems to be gone in my area. Will talk to dealer next time I am there, but do not have high hopes.

Very disappointing.

The use of a 2G modem (Chevy was advertising on board LTE at that time) and an analog modem connection when updating your health report makes you wonder if the IT department at Ford is stuck in the 1990s.

I agree that Ford is dealing with this way too late to keep customer happy, but to be clear GM introduced 4G capability for a few vehicles in 2015 and more models in 2016 (from the OnStar website "4G LTE availability in specific Model Year 2015 and 2016 vehicles")  All GM Onstar equipped vehicle prior to to that are 2G just like our Energis and will stop working just like our Energis.  I do think that GM is farther along with a path forward for those that pay the monthly fee for an OnStar subscription, but for those who don't pay for the service, the modem will just stop working.  Nissan is in the same boat with the 2011-2015 Nissan Leaf, They have published statements that it will stop working, but they have not identified a path forward yet.

Ford has just recently started advertising MFM-like features for non-plug-in cars, so they have something going on that is newer than 2G, we will just have to wait and see if / when it trickles down to our cars.

I found that using the web site not the new Ap works everything. The Ap Times Out and rarely works the locks and start up does not work. I don't get the switch of charge now & value charge when I'm not plug in?

Also it would be great if they could incorporate the windows up & down at different levels like the remote does.
