Battery Replacement Cost

As of right now the HVB cost for my 2015 FFE is $6767 and is listed as part #10B759 on the fordparts.com website. I noticed I got a lower price listing after I entered my dealer information. As a point of comparison the cost to replace the HVB in my 2012 Ford Escape Hybrid is listed as $7900. I was shocked by both figures: the former because it was slightly cheaper than expect and the later because it was WAY more than I expected.

Fortunately the FEH's NiMH chemistry allows it to be more easily worked on without replacing it so should the need arise I believe I could get it reconditioned for a fraction of that price. I will say that I have 90,000 miles on my FEH with zero problems. I'm hoping it can go to at least 150,000 without needing to have anything done with the HVB. We may not keep it that long though as my wife and I have had our eye on an Explorer for awhile now.

I searched high and low I have not been able to find any outfit that will work on the new FFE's battery chemistry. Anyone know if there are shops popping up anywhere that will take the FFE packs apart? Regardless, the replacement cost has come down quite a bit since I last looked.

It might be nice if someone else can enter their VIN and confirm that I was looking at the right part. It seemed like they were using part #10B759 to describe the larger plugin battery and the smaller hybrid battery.

That's a great price for your HVB.  Funny when I search for parts on FordParts.com with my VIN and dealer selected, all the MSRP/List prices for parts are much less than the "Your Price" column.   :(  I have a 2014 but it should be the same part.

Ford's MSRP for the battery is $7,784.94.  The My Price is $9,341.93.

Ford pays about $1500 for these batteries.

It was in the news.
