ImTruckin Posted October 29, 2016 at 12:59 PM Report Share Posted October 29, 2016 at 12:59 PM Hi to the Group, my name is Tom.In August I purchased a Energi, and other than unable to self program a new key fob I'm pretty happy with the car. My normal daily round trip for work is about 11 milesso the engine rarely runs. When I left the dealer I reset the trip meters (and drove 245 miles to home) and as of yesterday in my travels with this car, the MPG went above the 120 mpg mark! In 2006 I had a Escape Hybrid and there were many drawbacks to this car which the Energi doesn't have. The new Fusion is one of 8 vehicles I currently own, with one other green vehicle, a 2005 Jeep Liberty Diesel.
murphy Posted October 29, 2016 at 01:10 PM Report Share Posted October 29, 2016 at 01:10 PM Tom, try this. Close all of the doors. The car must be turned off.Need 2 programmed keys plus 1 key that you're going to program.1. INSERT first programmed key in the center console key slot, key ring on top, buttons facing the rear.2. WAIT 5 SECONDS, then PRESS THE START BUTTON.3. REMOVE the first key.4. INSERT second programmed key in the center console key slot, key ring on top, buttons facing the rear and PRESS THE START BUTTON.5. WAIT 5 SECONDS, then PRESS THE START BUTTON again.6. REMOVE the second key.7. WAIT 5 SECONDS, then INSERT the new key in the center console key slot, key ring on top, buttons facing the rear and PRESS THE START BUTTON TWICE. I recommend that you memorize these steps. There is not time to refer back to the instructions between steps. The whole process must be a continuous flow.Let us know if it works. ImTruckin Posted October 30, 2016 at 11:23 AM Author Report Share Posted October 30, 2016 at 11:23 AM Thanks for the advice Murphy, but I was unsuccessful. I'm actually trying to program a 4th key. Maybe I should use a stop watch instead of counting.
