This sounds like its too good to be true.  Does this really work?  Anyone tried it in a traffic jam?

Ford Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go

When Fusion is in cruise mode, a radar sensor detects slowing traffic ahead and can automatically brake and accelerate to keep you moving with the pace of traffic10. With the addition of stop-and-go, the feature can bring your vehicle to a complete stop in stopped traffic and restart it as traffic begins to move.

I have been shopping around based on safety features and driver assist technologies.  The Fusion Titanium and Platinum blow everything else away (even other Ford's I looked at do not have "Stop-and-Go" nor the ability to stop the car (if you don't).  It's mind boggling.

From 2017 Fusions with Adaptive Cruise Control have the stop and go function so using ACC during stop and go traffic would be terrific.  Just like a Tesla!  If Ford was like Tesla, I would think they could update the prior model years with stop and go that have ACC.  But apparently not.  In my opinion, Ford's Driver Assist options are actually really good.

I would love to hear from someone who actually sat in a traffic jam and it helped them.  I hate traffic jams.

Thanks for the video, thinkcooper. I don't see the "ECO" indicator on the car icon, so is the ACC with stop and go acting more aggressive? Wonder what its brake scores are like. :)

There's a YouTube video that shows exactly what you're asking. Me personally, love it. It will take you to a complete stop AND start again (under 3 seconds stopped) and even at that a tap on the accelerator, or,the resume button....starts it all up again....Lane Assist, you can keep that.

Just to follow up..  I did get a Fusion with the Ford ACC with Stop-and Go (2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid Platinum).  I LOVE the Stop and Go feature.   Yes.. it is unnerving the first few times, but combined with the adaptive cruise, my 55 mile, twice a day commute across the metro area (St. Louis), is relatively stress free.  The "sling shot" effect is the best.

thinkcoopers outcome is killing me however.

I have this on my 2018 and it works great. With regards to the one person asking about ECO, that turns on after about 20mph I believe. So it doesn't speed ahead really fast to then have to come to a complete stop again.

Anyone know the brake light behavior, if any, of ACC w/ stop and go?

Ditto for putting into low gear.

Ditto for ACC at highway speeds when a car suddenly pulls in front of you and your car quickly slows down.

ACC will put the brake lights on when slowing down significantly. L will not.

Thanks. That sounds like slow stop-and-go like in heavy stalled traffic won't put on the brake lights, which would be problematic.

My brake lights come on all the time in heavy stalled traffic, every time it moves forward and then stops they come on. I've seen the reflection in the bumper of the car behind me.

Thanks much.  I never thought of watching the reflection, I'll try that next time.
