Hello,

Wondering what type of mods can be done with this car:

EV: Like a solar powered moonroof !! Faster charging, i recently got a j1172 to tesla adapter that works great !

Performance: Air, exhaust, some sort of dyno tuning or something custom for the energi, its all computer controlled driving there must be a way to tweak it.

Cosmetic - bodywork, install of rear fog lights, spoiler w.e

maybe add some speaker upgrades and possible some trim additions.
this is the coolest  EV car i have ever been in except for a tesla..

Hey !

Thank You for all that Info, So faster charging: Not an option 2.6 hours to with 240 seems sufficient. For me, 1 Hr charge would be a dream.

Would installing Struts, Pedals, or repalacing the AGM Battery Void the warranty.

What about the wiriing for the dash cam, i was wondering about getting the Interior light kit and the Lighted Door sills direct from ford as those wouldn't void warranty.
However some custom light options seem to be cheaper, just have no experience messing with car electronics.

I am interested in the AGM battery upgrade as i have had a dead 12V battery once before since i had this car for a just over a year.

Thanks for all your help so far !

My car charges in 2 hours and 5 minutes from empty.

Modifications to your car can not void the warranty on the entire car.

They can void the warranty on a specific part that you modified.  Thus Ford is not going to warranty the AGM battery, that is up to the manufacturer of the battery.

The AGM battery that I installed required removing the battery tray from the trunk and sawing the end off of it to allow the battery to fit.  This was in 2013.  Several years later someone mentioned that he had found and AGM battery that would fit without any modifications.  Read the battery section here from beginning to end.  My instructions for making the modification are there.

The dash cam is plugged into the forward most 12 volt power port.  The wire is routed under the headliner across the top of the windshield, down the A pillar, under the dash to reach the center console.

I also added an XM radio that has a lifetime subscription (no longer available) with the antenna lead routed under the back seat, into the trunk, and up to the roof just behind the regular radio antenna.  Which reminds me, I removed the "stick" antenna and installed a shark fin antenna.

For me I’ve only done cosmetic mods. Plasti dipped wheels, grille and fogs. Vinyl wrapped window trim and door handle chrome, also I have a 17 so I wrapped the chrome strip on the back. Finally I got head and taillight tint from lamin-x. They make pre cut overlays for all the outer lights.

Mind sharing pics on how the headlights and taillights look with the tints, wanting to do a gunsmoke but not sure if it's too dark. Thanks

Maximum charge is 240 volts at 16 amps.  Even if connected to a 40 amp capable EVSE it will use 16 amps.

A pair of struts to support the hood.

Lighted door sills.

Bright brake and accelerator pedals.

Replace the 12 volt lead acid wet cell battery with an AGM battery.

Dash camera.

I've done all of those.

Which battery exactly did you use?
