oil change interval

I have a 2015 Fusion Energi. Manual says to change every 1 year, or 10,000 miles. I have driven 12,000 miles in the last 8 months. I'm averaging about 57MPG a tank, so I'm guessing I've driven about 9,000 gas miles.

My oil change indicator says 33%. So, if it hasn't been a year yet, and the oil change is still above 5% or so, is there a  need to change the oil even if I go above 10,000 miles?

Murphy is correct... from the 2017 manual version 3:

Fusion Energi Plug-in Hybrid
Your vehicle is equipped with the
Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor system, which
displays a message in the information
display at the proper oil change interval.
This interval may be up to two years or
20,000 mi (32,000 km).
A message appears in the information
display when it is time for an oil change.
Make sure you perform the oil change
within two weeks or 500 mi (800 km)of
the message appearing. Make sure you
reset the Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor after
each oil change. See Oil Change
Indicator Reset (page 256).
