Hey, I got Ford Fusion Plug in hybrid, last week I was driving just in EV mode, and I guess my 12V battery died. The day it happened in the morning I noticed charging port was all blinking and I get message on screen saying"Are your car is pluged in?" I chosen no, and then I was able to start driving, later on that day after work I came to drive home and wasn't able even open car, coz battery was dead.
So I bought new battery, but still getting the same question about pluged in and another error stop safely now..
Maybe anybody knows do I need to reset somthing after changing battery or there is another problem? Would appreciate any help!!!

Basic advice: Keep the car plugged in when you are not driving it. The car may reset the error message. Always unplug the car before you get in. Never start the car when plugged in. It seems to me that an electrical system is staying open. Typically a cell phone, USB drive, the car's modem,  aftermarket accessory or interior light. There may be a problem with the charge port. The port may be mistakenly reporting connected status.

Check 12 volt battery posts from 2013 and 2014 on this and the CMax Energi forums. These types of problems were frequent back then. There may be an answer there. Great car...stick with it!

PJFW8 I'm going to have to disagree on your first point.  Keeping a Li-ion battery at 100% all the time is a prime way to degrade your battery.  Several studies suggest time above 70% should be kept to a minimum.  Use charge times to reach full just before your departure, then don't charge until you need it again, or at least don't charge to full if you aren't going to use it for a while.

Justinas, how on earth did you get an energi in Lithuania?  Sounds like there may be an issue with your charge port.  If you can get a replacement part, they're pretty easy to replace (see another forum thread here http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/topic/5510-charge-port-led-light-ring-replacement-procedure/?do=findComment&comment=31472 )

I agree with your basic Li-ion battery advice. Nevertheless, I experienced 6 years of being plugged in with no significant degradation and one 12 battery problem (3 years ago when I was parked at a hotel for 3 days). Also, I charged the 12 volt to 100% SOC every 3 to 6 months. Ford Energi's have a HV battery management system. I also keep a small 12 volt jump start pack. I used it once on a stranger's stranded car. car. I agree with your suggestion about the charge port.
