WIth the excellent help of AAA Car buyimg I traded my 2013 Fusion Energi in for a 2018 Fusion Energi.

Why you might ask?   Reasonable question.

Because I wanted a new car and because I can. I loved my 2013 it was the best car I have ever purchased until now. Oh and there have been many new cars in my garage.

My 2018 came with just about everything except a moon roof and universal garage door opener. Here in Arizona, a moon roof is just an unwanted heat source and I will suffer through the lack of

the universal garage door opener.

Cooled seats, sounds silly, but in AZ... Nice.   Synch 3, Wow options galor. I have spent 2 days studying the owners manual and playing with it.

One question.  Option of 'Switch Inhibit', On or Off. Nowhere that I can find anything that describes what 'Switch Inhibit' is?

My 2018 is really a beautiful metalic gold and is actually faster off the starting line than the 2013 and like the 2013 comfortable and fun to drive.

I kind of equate buying this car with upgrading an iPhone. In that it is increamentally better and, well newer.

I feel a Fall road trip is in order...  Maybe up US395

From my 2013 manual.

Switch Inhibitor
When you electronically lock your vehicle,
the power door lock switch will no longer
operate after 20 seconds. You must unlock
your vehicle with the remote control or
keyless keypad, or switch the ignition on,
to restore function to these switches. This
feature can be switched on or off in the
information display. See General
Information (page 84).

Switch inhibit ensures that if you leave the window open, no one can reach in and hit the unlock button.  And, if they pull the handle to open, the alarm should sound.

As to the garage door opener, the visor has a cutout for it.  We just got our 2018 Energi a week ago, and last night I bought a beige Homelink module on Ebay for $23 with shipping ($13 due to an Ebay promo).  I installed one in my 2013 F-150 years ago.  Takes about 30 minutes going slow (remove visor, untuck cloth, wire in Homelink, tuck cloth back in, remount visor.

My 2010 Fusion Hybrid did not have the cutout so it had a remote hanging for 9 years (purchased in 2009).  My wife didn't care, I do.

We bought the Energi because with rebates it was thousands cheaper than the Hybrid, and even more thousands cheaper than the gas powered Fusion we would have bought (2.0 Turbo Titanium).
