About nascarnat

  1. My go times don't work at all. I have them set, but the car doesn't do anything. Doesn't turn on the fan or warm the coolant or anything. I have been to 3 different dealers, including one today. The SA at two of them flat out told me, "We don't know anything about this system. We called Ford Tech and the gave us a website for you to go to and diagnose it yourself." Oh and the third (first one I went to actually) told me Ford wouldn't authorize them to even look at it, much less try to fix it. Talk about service.... I want them to work. I paid for a car that has this option, and it won't do anything. To me, that's not getting what I paid for. I have used the remote start instead for this reason. What I have found is that if you leave the car in EV Auto, it will start the engine pretty much regardless of any other settings, even if SKS is on and you have the defrost setting to off instead of auto. With the car in EV Now mode, the engine will not start but this morning the fan was on high, not low, and the car was nice and toasty when I got in it.
  2. Very interesting. My car is in right now with a bad RCM. They are definitely right about the insufficient inventory. Mine has been backordered for 3 weeks now. Customer care says he can 'put me to the top of the list' and that they are shipping 1400+ units every monday, so they are going bad in droves. My airbag lights (dash and up in the middle for the pass airbag) came on, traction control on light, traction control off light, service advancetrac warning on left screen, and collision warning system inactive warning on left screen. Oh, and the backup camera lost its 'ghost lines' for some reason. Here's a link to my original post from when it happened. http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/topic/2455-lights-warnings-everywhere/ It's funny that the recall comes out now. it has been at the dealer 30 days today. the first couple weeks were battling with ford to get them to even agree to replace it. The only reason they did is an engineer came out and looked at my car, said they can't prove without a doubt that I have been in an accident, so they will replace it. It has been a constant headache from the beginning.
  3. I'm going to look into it today. it looks like I have to call customer care to get the form, am I reading that right? the attorney general website says within 2 years. the car was built 12/13/12, so we're past the 12-18 month period, even though it was a ford executive's car, I have only owned it for 2 months, and it only has 7400 miles on it.
  4. Are you referring to the BBB Auto Line program? Of course, my manual is in the vehicle so I can't look at it, but I'm looking at the online manual from the FordService website. Energized, it's not a TSB, or a PCM issue. There's more to this story that I can not bring up right now. That's why customer care is involved.
  5. I only had the car for a month before everything happened, so yes they are the only dealer I have dealt with so far. It was a day shy of a month when the lights came on, then a week until they were able to get me in to look at it. Now a few days shy of a month at the dealer. We're quickly approaching them having the car as long as I did before bringing it in.......
  6. Thanks Russael. I just sent her a message too. Hopefully she can help.
  7. Sorry, I thought I answered this.... it's at New Brighton Ford. Still... Wednesday started week number 4. Ford customer care has not gotten back to me. I called them and opened a case on Monday, they were supposed to get back to me within 24 hours... Does anyone have contact information for one of the reps here on the site? Frustration has more than kicked in at this point. It's almost laughable. I do want to stress, it's not 100% the dealers fault. I'm going to assign most of the blame on Ford and their "WOT" warranty something team. Still can't go into much detail but it has been a run around since day one. It has been one thing after another. when I opened the case with ford the guy kept asking is there anything else? why yes, there is this. anything else? yes, this, and on and on. Bottom line I owned my car less than a month when the lights came on, and now it's going on a month in the shop.
  8. It's a long drawn out story that I can't really go into right now. Long story short, the dealer still has the car after 2 weeks... Once I get things hashed out I will let you know.

Here's some pictures of my Fusion Energi Titanium.
  10. So I was driving to work the other day when the traction control light, the traction control OFF light, the airbag light, the pass airbag off (up on the center of dash) lights all came on. I also got 2 warning messages on the left screen, Service AdvanceTrac, and Collision warning not available. Also, when backing up, I no longer have the white 'guide' lines when I turn the wheels. I called the dealer, tried to set something up and get a loaner because I've had the car a month and I can't go without a car for days while they fix mine. She tells me, we do loaner cars, but they are all booked until Sept 5 (which I had already booked for some other issues I'm having with the car). Ok, is it safe to drive it then while all of this is going on? I can't make that decision for you. Ok, can someone else? No. So what am I supposed to do? Well you can leave a message with my manager, sometimes he has other avenues for loaner cars. I left a message and have not heard a word since. That was 2 days ago. Not very happy with the dealership right now. I've read other people having similar issues and it needing a new RCM which sounds like is on national backorder more often than not. I guess what I'm wondering is, if anyone else has had this issue, have you driven it? has it been ok? I understand that the collision warning won't work, the traction control won't work, and the airbags won't work. All of which are safety features that made buying this car more attractive. But, it's summer time, so the traction control won't get used, and hopefully I can keep it off another car and won't need the airbags or the collision warning system. I will post pictures of the dash and the messages.
  11. I have a 2013 Energi Titanium with 7300 miles on it. I bought it with 5100 and almost immediately started hearing a brake noise (scraping while driving like you are describing). I took it in and they told me all 4 rotors were rusted on the inside and that the build up of rust was causing a rubbing while driving down the road. Awesome... So they scuffed the rotors up and it went away for a day or two. Now every day I get it up to speed, put it in neutral (the regen is not active in neutral from what I have heard) and ride the brakes for a while to try and scrub that rust off. Some days it works, some days it doesn't. The strange thing is, sometimes I hear the scrape under normal conditions when I first tap the brake pedal. If the brakes don't engage until you are down to 5-10mph, why would I hear it when I first step on the pedal going 40? Doesn't make sense to me. I am bringing it in again in a couple of weeks (first available appointment... bad news for ford that their service dept is that busy???) for another issue I will post a thread about in a minute, but will have them look at the brakes again at that time. Maybe they should have invested in ceramic rotors... no rust issues there.
  12. Looks nice. Although rather funny with the Energi (not that most people know what an Energi is to begin with, so they would be none the wiser). Go Blue!
  13. I've had my Energi Titanium for just over a month now. I took it on a road trip this weekend. Minnesota to Michigan, 650 miles each way. I didn't 'drive it like a hybrid', I just put the cruise to a couple over the limit and had the climate control on the whole trip. 3 people and luggage in the car, so it was weighted down more than normal too. The trip out I saved my battery for the in town driving while we were on our trip. The way back I burned it completely, left it in auto until it was depleted then drove the rest of the way on hybrid power. I averaged 40.06 MPG on the way back and 39.9 on the way out, with 140 EV miles each way. I'm calling it 40 both ways because it could have been more up hill on the way out than back, or whatever. I was hoping for mid 40s but am still happy with the ride and performance of it.
  14. Time and temp settings are set correctly. the first time I did it I set it for AM instead of PM, but caught it after nothing happened so I resolved that. The clock in my car is set correctly also, it was on 24 time, so you can't screw up am and pm. I have an appointment at the dealer next month (that was their first opening.....) to have that looked at. Along with: No lights work on the passenger door. No ambient or the door lock light. Trunk lid won't stay open because of the spoiler Auto up windows, resetting constantly because they stop working. Also, there is a scraping noise in the front of the car. sounds like the brakes are rubbing. They are looking at that today, but I had to leave it with no loaner and they would 'get to it when they get to it'. I'm driving it 1500 miles next week so I at least need to make sure there's not a problem with the brakes before I go.
  15. My car isn't plugged in every day but the days it is I have a go time set up to cool the cabin down when I leave in the afternoon. Yes, it's only plugged into 120, and yes I know people say it sucks, I get that. I have been late leaving most of the time so I couldn't really confirm if it was doing anything or not, but it never felt like it was. Today I went out 3 minutes before my go time. Nothing. No fan or anything. I sat outside of my car waiting to see if it did anything. The Go time came and went and nothing happened. No fan, no cooling, no nothing. It's 90 degrees outside today, full sun. Obviously I had to turn the climate control on when I got in which kills the battery. It's frustrating.
