  1. creme, i ended up getting one of those scrape protectors. looks pretty good. theres a little ruffle since there isnt a hard edge to install it on, but im hoping it will go away since the lip came rolled up. we'll see. it gave the car a little bit of a meaner look so overall im happy with it. besides, it was $17 haha
  2. ended up doing the grill today. it looks great. the wheels are SCREAMING to be blacked out now =]
  3. i think im almost done w my wrapping haha. i actually had some light tint over my headlights the other day and i didnt like how it looked so i removed it. maybe after i black out the grill ill think differently. i might do the rest of the emblem removal and plastidip on sunday
  4. Basically just cut strips of the CF vinyl and did it carefully to make sure the CF pattern matched. i dont think the sides match exact but it was good enough to look as if it switched pattern at the bend. the blow dryer and patience was my best friend there just wrapping from top to bottom and folding over the lip of the outer grill. im going to research today the easiest way to pull out the inner grill inserts, unless you know how? im positive its just as simple as pulling them out with force but i also dont want to break the tabs
  5. ^^ im with you .. i think the biggest change was blacking out the ford logo, it really helped shape and accent the grill. it is really sporting a much cleaner look now and i can see it separating itsself from the other 9099092809890 fusions out there haha, i DO find myself looking at it much more ... the RWD is fun man, theres a huge difference between the under steer in an FWD and the oversteer in a RWD but the differences are night and day. esp with the S2000 its more of a purist car, there are basically no luxury options and its perfectly fine =] at this point in my life im doing graphic design but formerly i was a mechanic working on european cars / imports for a 5-6 years. definitely a good skillset to have because i dont trust anyone with any of my cars haha, but that feeling of accomplishment is definitely there. ive really been wanting an FD RX-7 to tinker with, or pick up an old harley and turn it into a bobber. way too many toys right now though
  6. basically have every bolt on. intake / titanium headerback exhaust (i got the energi to balance this out haha). i have tein suspension and spoon x braces and all of that bs that is supposed to stiffen the chassis. otherwise i have front/side/rear diffusers for the look. i got the car in 03, its been very very good to me. ive been a long time member in s2ki.com for 10+ years its almost unreal to think about how fast the time has past. and i agree, ive been thinking about selling it this year and i just dont think i can. theyre very under appreciated and i like that theyre a little more on the rare side. also cant beat the response/handling on a little RWD roadster. (sorry to highjack your thread with this post, ill share some window pics tomorrow to offset haha) EDIT: its raining like crazy this AM, so i uploaded the taping of the chrome window trim. i may revisit this and clean it up a little bit but im satisfied for now. i may do the CF pillars like you did though =]
  7. thanks for the compliments! the car in the garage is a honda s2000 and is my primary 'play & track car', i also have a 2005 mini cooper S so this is a huge difference for me coming from track cars haha. i've been taking the bus to work recently so having the energi for the quick ride to the bus station is very efficient. the cf wrap on the fogs was a little bit of a pain in the ass, but just blow drying (or heat gunning) the vinyl so its a little bit more pliable. i just got in from doing the chrome trim around the windows and plan on doing a headlight tint tomorrow and the inner grill (if i have some time) .. ill take some more pictures tomorrow.
  8. Heres a little step by step that i did. The rears unclipped faily easy. I was able to take a pic and documented each step but ill just show the finished product. will have to wrap or plastidip the inner grill, debadge(will be leaving energi) and do the window trim at another time. overall im very satisfied with the outcome. will post those when finished. also, here is my other baby 16 years and kicking strong haha
  9. I have some black vinyl that im looking to wrap the window trim with. I might just use a heavy duty electric tape. I've done this with a previous Mini Cooper S and it held up for over 2 years.
  10. frasier you are the man haha. thanks for the advice. actually yesterday after reading your post i same day primed some cf wrap for the rear chrome strip and the fog light accents. im thinking that im going to plastidip the center grill but cf wrap the chrome outer bezel. will post pics when im finished. ill look into the headlight tint, definitely looking more towards the film route than the spray route. id assume in some more time, more products will be available. fingers crossed
  11. thanks so much for the welcome, ive ordered glossy black vinyl and will wrap what i can. im currently looking for a light tint (i mean verrry light) for the headlights. i have some plastidip for the emblems but i may jist remove everything but the energi badges. im a little curious in how to tackle the front grill with anytbing orher than plastidip, but i may have no choixe
  12. Hey Guys, Just picked up my 17 Energi in black and am looking to rid of all of the chrome as well. It looks great on the blue frasier!
