HotLap Posted November 25, 2014 at 03:13 PM Report Share Posted November 25, 2014 at 03:13 PM All was sprucing up my FFE last night in the garage and had it plugged in with the headlights and ignition on. When I opened the driver's door I noticed my ambient lighting (in the driver's door only) went from the light blue I had it set on to red? All the other ambient lighting remained light blue and once I was inside and closed the door the lighting went back to light blue. I was able to replicate this with both front doors...what is the purpose of this?
Hybridbear Posted November 25, 2014 at 04:06 PM Report Share Posted November 25, 2014 at 04:06 PM Red means that door is open, blue means it's closed. It tells you which doors are open/closed.
murphy Posted November 26, 2014 at 01:49 AM Report Share Posted November 26, 2014 at 01:49 AM It warns the car coming up behind you that there is an obstacle in the way. The only color that can be shown toward the back of a car is red except for the white back up lights.
HotLap Posted November 26, 2014 at 03:46 PM Author Report Share Posted November 26, 2014 at 03:46 PM Thanks gents to you both for the insight. I had thought it was something like that, just another example of attention to detail! I also noticed the rear door panel storage areas have the cut out for ambient lighting, but it is not included...wonder it that was a mid-cycle "de-content" move by Ford? Mine is a 14 titanium, so it should have them unless they are no longer available...
