Front and Rear Parking Assist

OK.  So yesterday morning, i put the car in reverse and it stays on my "Empower" display and it hasn't reverted to "Rear Parking Assist - On" since then.

I certainly didn't change anything.

Anyone have any thoughts on what's going on?

Is the rear park assist still turned on? In the Driver Assistance section of the left dash menus you can turn it on or off.

There's a TSB for issues with this display in the Focus. I'm not familiar with issues with it in the Fusion.

Have you had a chance to swing past your dealer, Hardp? They'll be able to look into this further. Once you have an appointment, please let me know, along with your mileage.

Thanks Meagan.  I have an unrelated question that perhaps you can answer.  I've never understood "rRegen" miles.

Let's say my odometer says I've driven a total of 10,000 miles of which 7,500 are "EV" miles and 2,000 are "Regen" miles.  Does that mean I've used the gasoline engine to go the remaining 500 miles?  (My example is totally hypothetical but I used those numbers for purposes of this question.)  Are "Regen" miles the electric motor "hybrid" miles that I generated by driving purely when in hybrid mode?

Thanks.

I believe that Regen miles are included in EV miles. You would have put 2500 ICE miles on the vehicle in your scenairo.

In this example you've driven 7500 ev miles and 2500 ICE miles. The 2000 regen miles are included in the ev miles. The ev miles in hybrid mode are supplied by regen miles and the ice turning. Edited by openair

yes, the 500 miles is gas

the regen is the resistance that the car captures no matter what the mode its in. The car gets most if not all by the regen brakes system.  You can get more from the system by using L instead of D.

I'm sure theres a better way of saying it and just adding what the other guys have said.

Here's something I found in the Owner Manual

Page 79 (2013)

Trip Summary and Lifetime Summary:

• Distance - The total distance traveled, distance traveled on battery power only (EV distance) and Regen distance are displayed. Regen distance is the estimated range gained from energy recaptured through regenerative braking.

I hope this helps! If you need more detail, please let me know.
