Hybrid Highway - All Electric City: Is this a good strategy?

So of course only getting about 21 miles of electric only propulsion, my strategy is to run it all electric in stop-and-go traffic, and run it as a hybrid on the expressways when I'm using cruise control.  Is this a good strategy for economy?

Yes. The only caveat would be if your trip is short enough to make it all EV. Then don't burn gas. We only use our Fusion Energi for long trips out of town & for short trips around the city that don't exceed the EV range. All the medium length driving is done in our Focus Electric. That way we keep our gas consumption to an absolute minimum.

I had the same question. I expect to drive local a lot and will use EV only but we expect some long road trips where I cannot figure out how to optomixe the electric aspect of the Energi. We just turned in our leased 2012 Focus Electric, really great, well made car, regularly go 80miles a charge but it was our in town car. Very rare cases of range anxity and now those are gone but I did like the higher EV range than the Energi but the overall pacage seems likea good fit.

Neat to see someone else with a Focus Electric & an Energi. I think there are a few of us around :)
