hikenson36 Posted October 3, 2017 at 06:23 PM Report Share Posted October 3, 2017 at 06:23 PM Hi,I went over a pothole with my 2017 Ford Fusion Energi and the engine cut out. There was no visable damage to any part of the car. All of the tires and rims were fine. The car was put on a lift at the shop and the mechanic said that the vibration from going over the pothole damaged the transmission. When I viewed a complete copy of the pictures taken while the car was on the lift one picture stated their was an internal malfucntion with the generator. But the Ford mechanic convinced the insurance adjustor that the vibration damaged the transmission. I spoke to several mechanics and none of them thought this was possible unless there was damage to the undercarraige of the car. Therefore, this has lead me to see if others have had problems with their transmission. Becuase it seems like in my case their had to be some sort of manufacturing defect. I would appreciate any feedback and any suggestoins on actions I can take. Thank you. HAI
