Fgolman Posted November 2, 2018 at 01:40 AM Report Share Posted November 2, 2018 at 01:40 AM I've got so much conflicting info from dealsr. Please clairify: I should be able to get heat even when in EV. There is a radiant coil that heats cabin or preconditions, right? If not, either a 12 volt battery disconnect reboot might do the tick. If not, does anyone have a part number and description so I can beat the dealer up and get him to fix this! It's getting pretty cold here in the Midwest overnight! Thank you! murphy Posted November 2, 2018 at 10:22 AM Report Share Posted November 2, 2018 at 10:22 AM The car has a 5 kW resistance heater to provide cabin heat when in EV Only mode. Find a dealer that is certified to service electric vehicles. A non certified dealer probably thinks the car has an alternator and a starter motor. It doesn't have either one of those. bdginmo Posted November 4, 2018 at 03:51 AM Report Share Posted November 4, 2018 at 03:51 AM Yes. You should be able to get heat on EV. Definitely disconnect the 12v battery to force a reboot and see if that fixes it. I will tell you that I actually had the electric heater go out on my vehicle. It was replaced under warranty in my case.
