About SD Diver

  1. Wow - October 2014, I had the same symptoms and recorded the cycle on my phone. Sent it off to my ford dealer. They kept the car over two weeks but were unable to find a problem. Now it looks as if my gps failed. Nav screen shows gps with a red x through it. Not feeling the love here. In 18 months, it has been at the dealer for 6 weeks.
  2. I've got these - but I had to go with fuse 4 (I believe). Also not using the white wire (dim with headlights)
  3. The funny thing is my wife's 2014 Focus EV came standard with HID low beams (high beams are halogen). Why oh why did I have to go through a lot of work to outfit my fusion with HIDs...
  4. The headlights were strictly plug and play - they have a retaining clip.
  5. I have a thread in the headlight forum that describes all the pieces and parts. http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/topic/2334-headlight-makeover/
  6. A coworker of mine with a CMax Energi got his Saturday. I have yet to receive mine... But I did buy these headlights:
  7. D2S Ballasts/Bulbs (5000K) (Morimoto) No flicker, but there is a 2 second color shift at startup. The ballasts are internal, and the headlight is direct plug and play.
  8. Thanks for the feedback guys! I got the lights from http://www.thelighti...eo-edition.html. The install took be about 45 minutes. Once you take the bumper off, the lights are a snap. Here's a good tutorial for bumper removal (relax - its pretty easy) http://2gfusions.com...pic,1367.0.html Here's one for the headlight replacement http://2gfusions.com...pic,4298.0.html As for the led fog lights, I bought these bezels http://www.ebay.com/itm/281335758987?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 and these bulbs "http://www.ebay.com/itm/121332408929?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649" The headlights were more than I wanted to spend, but the $850 that ford will soon send helped. Mine were 1150 shipped. I basically got the ones linked to above but without the "sequential" feature. The have a number of styles and are often on ebay (with 3 day sales, etc). Hope this helps. Corncobs - no, those are knockoffs. The company that did my headlights starts off with new factory headlights and retrofits from there. Mine are also bi-xenon and came with the bulbs. Bi-xenon uses a single bulb and a rotating shield and covers both high and low beams. My high beam reflector is empty, but being smoked and having the HID ballast, you can't tell. Now for the pitfalls... The instructions for the bezels seem to be for the non hybrid/Energi Fusions. If you go this route, then use fuse 3 (auto wiper) for hot and the grounding post near the fuse box for ground. This will give you true DRLs - on when the car is on, off when turned off. I had ordered my headlights to require external external wiring for the white LED strip, but they sent me the plug-and-play version. So, to get the DRL on, I need to turn on the parking lights. Not a big enough issue for me to want to return them, and I have the added benefit that they illuminate when I remote lock/unlock the car (the led fog bezels do not). Any questions, feel free to ask!
  9. What do you think? New headlights - smoked background, bi-xenon w/ projectors, switchback Mondeo-style DRLs/turn signals.
  10. Actually, I have a set of custom bi-xenon Mondeo style retrofit head lights on order. Internal Switchback led bar across the bottom that acts as DRL and turn signal.
  11. Unfortunately at 0.44/kWh (San Diego, noon to 6 pm) gas is cheaper.
  12. I seem to no longer go into EV+ mode when I'm within 1/8th mile of home... Any ideas how this could happen?
