  1. I took mine in the other day to get the latch recall done as well as the TCU replacement. I come back to pick up and they hadn't done the TCU. He tried to tell me that FSA 15N04 was just an extended warranty so I showed him the letter. He went and called someone and came back and said they wouldn't have the part available until December or January.
  2. My 2013 only does the beeping thing if the key fob leaves the car not if the driver gets out of the seat. If I get out but leave the key fob in the cup holder or something like that it doesn't beep. So that would make me think something related to the key fob but it also needs to talk to the key fob to let you start the car so that doesn't make much sense. Does it do it with both key fobs?
  3. Many 240v chargers can be installed with a plug into an outlet or be direct wired. My Siemens Versacharge came with a plug and instructions on how to remove it. Be aware that some brands will sell the same charger with slight differences in model number that indicate whether it includes the plug or not. I think that was the case with mine but for some reason the one with the plug was cheaper.
  4. Which model did you get? I have something similar that I got from Costco but it wouldn't work, It just beeped at me to disconnect every time I tried. So I had to daisy chain some jumper cables to be able to get from another car to the terminals under the hood since it was stuck in the garage.
  5. That is really frustrating. Mine is not under warranty but the first time it happened it was but I just assumed that I must have left a light on or something because I couldn't think of any other way for the battery to have died.
  6. It is a 2013 and is past the 3-year mark. I need to take it in for a recall so I'll ask about it when I do that. Both times this happened the car only sat overnight since that previous time it had been used. So between late afternoon/evening when it completed charging and the following morning the 12V ran down.
  7. For the second time in about a year I came out to my garage to find the 12V battery dead and the HVB fully charged. I've looked at some of the other 12V battery threads and I don't think I saw anyone posting about this scenario. How is it even possible for the 12V to die after fully charging the HVB? The first time I was almost positive I hadn't but I assumed I must have left a light or something on that ran down the battery. I checked the battery this morning before starting and it was at 12.4V. It was colder today than it was the other day and it made it through last winter's coldest days without it happening. So it seems entirely random to me. The day before it died I only used the car for a few short trips and then plugged it back and I do recall seeing a battery saving message after one of the trips when turning the car off. I thought the charge process for the HVB also charged the 12V back up though.
  8. I probably should have just returned it with Amazon because they have the back-fed one for $50 less now. I called Siemens about the problem to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong and ended up in their replacement process. Actually it turns to be a fairly quick turnaround. The replacement is supposed to be here tomorrow. Their first email just had a date for pickup of the faulty unit and didn't say much about the replacement. I was worried I was going to have to wait for them to receive the faulty unit before sending out the replacement but that wasn't the case.
  9. I've tried several times since it was powered up. Same thing every time. I went by the dealer and plugged in there just to make sure it wasn't a level 2 versus level 1 issue with the car.
  10. I got mine all wired up and plugged in the car and then nothing. It seems my charger is a dud. Green light says it has power. When I plug it into the car the car acts like it is thinking about charging but the charger never starts. Siemens return process looks like it will take weeks so I think I'll just deal with Amazon.
  11. I was getting about 29-30 when it was warmer. Now that the mornings are getting cooler here it seems to have dropped to 27-28. My drive works out such that I can use Auto for the non-highway mile and EV-later for the highway and use up the entire range most days. If it seems like I'll have a little extra range left I'll switch to Auto for that last highway mile or so on the way home. I usually only use the climate system on the highway.
  12. The Bosch 30 A with 18' cord is out of stock and won't be available until next month. Looking at Amazon and Home Depot a lot of models are out of stock now.
