About ctfusion

  1. When it happened on mine I had 17 miles showing, which is not hybrid battery. I didn't look at the percentage. It's certainly not from fuel freshness mode as I drive in EV Later everyday and fill up about once a month, nor would it be Oil Maint for the same reason and especially since that day I had already driven about 200 miles in EV Later before it decided to switch to EV Auto on its own.
  2. I wasn't in traffic for all that long when it happened and in fact the whole traffic incident was only 15 - 20 minutes. I didn't have a chance to pull over and power down / back up and I certainly didn't have an opportunity to floor it. If it happens again I will look at the power screen to see if it says anything and if I can will try the "reboot" of the car. Most likely, if it happens again I will bring it into Ford and at least talk to someone to see if they know.
  3. Now that you mention it, I think I was in traffic as I approached the Tappan Zee Bridge when it happened. So maybe it does have something to do with that. And like you said, I could not switch back, even after I got moving and it ran the battery out. Maybe it has something to do with the heat of the engine and there isn't sufficient cooling for stop and go traffic or it just assumes you don't want to waste gas sitting in that traffic.
  4. Yesterday I took a trip from Connecticut to New Jersey and back (about 140 miles each way). On the way down I used EV Later because I wanted to save the battery for near my home. I had no problems with this on the way down. On the way back I did the same thing, had it in EV Later and it was fine until about 1 1/2 hours into the trip. At that point it changed to EV Auto and had "X's" in the other two choices. I had about 17 miles remaining on the battery and I had a little over half a tank of gas. It then ran in EV Auto until the HVB ran out then it switched to Hybrid. Any idea why it would have done that all of a sudden like that? Stan
  5. Just wondering where you placed the ballasts and if you get any FM radio interference? I installed a Morimoto kit a couple weeks ago and have radio interference since then. TRS suggested I add RFI cores to get rid of the interference. Tried that and it helped but it's still there. Now they suggest I try relocating the ballasts. The ting is, the engine compartment is so freakin' tight, I don't know where else to put them. If you could post a pic of where your ballasts are, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks
  6. I'm hoping you all can give me some assistance here. I just installed Morimoto HID headlights from The Retrofit Source in my 2015 Fusion Energi. Installation went good and everything works fine. Except that when the lights are on there is interference in the radio. It's primarily in less than ideal signal conditions but it seems to always be there. I turn the lights off and the interference goes away. The kit included the HD relay harness, Morimoto XB35 Ballasts and AMP igniters along with 35W 6000K bulbs. Any idea what I can do to eliminate the interference? :sos: Thanks for the help!!
  7. Is the OEM L1 under-powered for preconditioning in cold weather? Which, unfortunately, means the L2 is also under powered since it maxes out at about 3600 watts, just not as much under powered.
  8. Wondering if anyone has replaced their stock Halogen headlights and foglights with LED's? If so, how did it go? Unfortunately it seems they don't make an H7 LED for the high beams - at least not yet. On my previous car, a 2011 GMC Terrain, I used these and they worked great! A nice bright white that rivaled HID's. For the Fusion I was thinking about these which are rated even brighter. Also wondering if the way the manual says to replace the headlights (removing a bunch of screws and clips from the bumper and pulling it forward) is really the best way or if headlight replacement can be done without doing all that. So far loving my Fusion!
  9. I just got a new Clipper Creek LCS-20 yesterday, installed it and had the car plugged in at 5:30. By 7:30 I had an email telling me my car was charged. That was incredible! But even more incredible was getting into the car this morning. It was 22 outside and the car was nice and toasty before I took off. Is the L2 worth it from a financial standpoint - that's debatable. Is it worth it from a comfort and convenience standpoint - without a doubt!!
