About Edman951

  1. Weird that they indicate imperial gallons, other manufacturer spec US mpg. Makes it hard to compare. But in Hybrid, 4.5 L/100 = 52.27 mpg US, much higher then the EPA rating. Already the EPA is high. Plus EV range in canada is 43 km = 26.7 miles, so they are high on this too. In Canada, its always L/100 km
  2. Rhyakus, Thanks for that link, it the math a needed. Since i dont have an energi yet, wanna play the numbers first.
  3. Check this out. Ford Canada you got some explaining to due!!!!!! Compare the window stickers. Weird It doesnt add up. Canadian 150MPGe / 63mpg combined US 100 MPGe / 43 mpg combined
  4. Hey, Does anybody now where to find a good calculator for plug in hybrids? where you can do the math to figure out stuff that applies to PHEV. How much it cost to fill up the battery.(with my KWh rate.) How much gas savings. etc.. It would be fun to be able to compare since mpge does do it for me. I don't get to see how much I'm paying in electricity. Thanks
  5. On my gf C-max Hydrid , in the Canadian winter, the ICE will start seconds after you turn the key on, even with a full charge. As it senses the cold, and that it need to be at operation temperature for later use. Versus now warmer, we can drive away in EV and the ICE will turn on when needed. Im sure the ECU will Command the ICE and E-heater to come on to heat up faster. For performance and comfort. Any car is harder on MPG in the winter. Exp, my BMW 550 does 16mpg in the Winter, and 19mpg in the summer. (combined mpg DD)
  6. Thanks!! Do you feel like you are holding up traffic in EV mode? Or are you keeping up with traffic and holding good range? I don't mind going slow, but don't want to be a guy making the traffic jam lol. Need to get some youtube vids of people driving in EV mode, and seing how it compares to a normal car daily driving acceleration.
  7. How much power does it have in pure EV mode? If the car only had that power, would you consider it enough? I love driving in EV in my girlfriends C-max, and want more of that feeling. except in a hybrid, there is not much power, so if you press on the gas to quick, the ICE goes into action to easly.
