  1. My commute to work is 44 kms. For this commute, in the winter, I am getting between 25kms and 28kms. I use the heat sparingly. For the same commute in the Summer, I am getting 40kms and I use the AC generously. Thats why I asked why I dont see a drop in range when using the AC. Ford must have figured something out OR air conditioning on Electric vehicles doesnt reduce range. Vin
  2. That was a typo, sorry. I know there are 3 settings. I am in EV Now mode. It just bugs me to see the ICE come on when I am only going a few Kms when I know there is plenty of battery charge. Thanks for all the responses. Vin
  3. Hello All, 2017 FFE. Its cold here in Southern Ontario. Today its -13C (15F). Is there a way to force the car to ONLY use "EV Only" setting? I understand the 3 available settings, but if I have a very short trip in town, even with a full charge (much more than needed to get there and back), the ICE will still kick in. The orange light comes up saying ICE is enabled to help performance. When I know that I am only going a short distance and have more than enough charge, including heating, is there a way that I can lock out the ICE? Thank you, Vin
  4. Seems like this is a random issue as no other responses. Pet peeve of mine is when threads are started and not updated with a solution, so here goes. I recently had to bring the FFE in for work and so asked the dealer to look into the speaker popping issue. They re installed the radio/noise reduction software and no issues since. Hope that helps someone in the future. Vin
  5. Have narrowed it down to FM stations only if that helps jog anyone's memory. Thanks, Vin
  6. Update. Went to the dealership today. They re installed the radio software. No difference. Still poor reception. Going back. Its just not right. Something is off. Vin
  7. Hello All, 2017 FFE. Does anyone else have poor radio reception? Sometimes, I can barely get my local stations, both AM and FM. Curious to hear if anyone else has the same issue and if they were able to resolve it. Thank you, Vin
  8. Makes sense. I work in a company that produces Automotive parts for all OEM's including Ford. What is interesting is that the OEM's are asking suppliers to develop heat dissipating products to keep the cabin cool. I keep advocating that heat in the Summer is not an issue for the cabin as AC does not affect range, but cold in the Winter is a killer on range and we should be developing products that keep heat in during the Winter. Thanks for the reply. Vin
  9. Hello All, 2017 FFE. With the cold Winter here now in Southern Ontario, of course, I have lost a tremendous amount of range. I am down to 25kms (15 miles) per charge. In the Summer, I use the A/C and noticed that I was still getting great range, 37 kms (22miles). I would have thought that the use of AC would reduce range the same as using the heater in the Winter does. Anyone else see the same? Just wondering. Vin
  10. Hello All, 2017 FE. Sometimes when I get in the car the speakers, I think the rear ones, POP. I have not started the car or pressed the start button, just getting in and sitting down. Anyone else have that happen? Thanks, Vin
  11. As of December 2016 43,000 FFE have been produced, I imagine, all have been sold. The second question, how many in cold weather states is actually a good question. I'm not sure but I have to imagine that since others have reported this problem, that enough have been sold in cold weather states/provinces to bring this design flaw up. I have worked for an Automotive Components company for 28 years and I can tell you that if problem parts are not reported through warranty, the OEM and parts community don't know there is a problem. I see that you also have the issue but have not reported it. If enough people bring the vehicle back, the warranty and dissatisfaction costs will drive the OEM to make changes. While I think the swivel door is cool, at this point, I will take a reliable door that opens on hinges like the gas door. Vin
  12. Yes, this is exactly what happend. Rain and then cold. I have no choice but to go to dealer as the cap actually fell off this time! Vin
  13. No. This time, 100% pushing recessed button to open and close. Vin
  14. Hello All, Well, that didn't last long. New door frozen shut just like the original. It's -3C (26F) today. Will see if it continues. If it does, back to the dealership it goes. I can't believe its not a widespread problem where there is cold weather. Vin
  15. Your car is a 2017 right? If yes, its still covered under warranty, so why not get it replaced like I did? Vin
  16. Update. Had the port door / charge ring replaced today. Took less than an hour. Works like new! What a difference! As for pushing the door closed from the "button" as shown on the video, I cant belie that this was my problem. I have to believe that the majority of people close the door by rotating it closed by hand and pushing it closed. Good luck to all. Vin
  17. It was nice and cold today, -5C or 23F, and surprise, the door was stuck. I went directly to the dealership and this time, they said that the seal was compromised and ice had formed inside the arm. New charge ring ordered and will be installed tomorrow afternoon. Let you know how it turns out. Vin
  18. Do the brakes continue to squeal or only for a short time? Vin
  19. I read on another site, I think it was for the Cmax, that this happened and they replaced the charging ring, which includes the door and that fixed the issue. If it happens again, I will be asking for a new charging ring assembly. Vin
  20. Yup. Like I said, I call BS on the "fix". When it gets cold again we will see. Today it's 0C (32F) so not cold enough. Vin
  21. Update: I dropped the vehicle off this morning and it warmed up a bit, like I said, I think enough for the port door to open up as normal. The technician said that the locating pin was slightly bent and holding the door from opening. I call BS! The pin is in on the inside of the door on the opposite side of the spring mechanism. I couldn't argue much as the door was opening but I asked, why if it was the pin, that I had to manually push the door to the open position even after the pin had cleared. Anyways, its early in the Winter and it will get colder, so lets see. Vin
  22. Of course the temp rises just enough today when I drop the vehicle off at the dealership the door is working. Lets see if they do anything. Vin
  23. Spoke too soon! Its -4C this morning and door is stuck again. Cant believe Im saying this but I hope the cold stays long enough for my dealership appointment, now on Tuesday. Has to be something about the spring not functioning in the cold. Let you know how it turns out. Vin
  24. Same here. Door working normally. Has to be something about the design and cold weather. If it isnt cold enough and acting up I wont be going to the dealership. Lets see if it happens again when it gets colder. Vin
  25. I see we both have 2017's. Wonder if there has been a change in design. Vin
