About wparkki

  1. when towing in EV I get about 8 miles at 60MPH before I deplete the large battery, and i prefer to tow in EV as long as its not stop and go there hasn't been an issue with heat
  2. So I now have 98,000 miles on my 2017 energi platinum. I have towed my 17ft boat(3,200lbs) behind this car for 3 years now and have not had any issues. while the manufacture does not rate these vehicles for towing(mostly due to the change in transmission from the ICE models) I can say that the transmissions in these are actually well suited for the stress and we will see the towing capabilities come in for the escape with the same transmission design. I pulled my trans fluid at 60,000 and sent it into the lab with no unexpected wear metal found in the sample and no breakdown in oil. also tow snowmobiles, jet skis, utility 5x8 trailer with all sorts of things (3500 lbs) have never felt unstable although going through the cascades with some of the 16% grades 35-40mph was about all I could do while keeping the rpms around 4000
