About mfoulks

  1. Greetings, I just read someone saying that unless the battery life degrades to absolute ZERO miles, the warranty doesn't kick in? That would indeed suck since, I recall spending a fortune on a deluxe warranty on my 2015 FFE!  Here's what I posted today. Please let me know if you find out anything. Thx

Any other Fusion Energi owners see a sudden and drastic drop in battery performance? Last week, my usual 21-25 electric miles from a full charge plummeted over night to exactly THIRTEEN MILES. Just got back from dealer service where they pronounced my battery as perfect and gave me a sheet of nonsense like temperature and tire pressure! They completely punted.

  2. Greetings Murph. I am wondering if you know "proper channels" with whom I can raise this issue and hopefully convince Ford to make good on the extra warranty I spent a fortune on?? Here's what I just posted:

My car does that every winter, especially if the heater is turned on.  The temperature of the battery needs to be above 70 degrees F to get the rated mileage.  Also no high speed driving.  Air drag increases with the square of the speed.  It takes a lot of energy to move the air out of the way.

There used to be Ford representation on the forum but that ended a long time ago.

Is your dealer electric certified?  If not, find one that is.

I'm just another Ford owner now although I did work for Ford in the mid 1960s.

  3. Hello!  Did you ever get any help with this issue? Something is wrong when Ford doesn't address this obvious problem.

  4. Hello! Just wondered if you found helpful feedback regarding Energi charge loss? I'm new here and this is what I posted.

  5. Hi Sean, I just posted the following and wanted to share it with you. Somethings not right here!

  6. Hello there jsamp!

I saw one of your posts and it perfectly described my Fusion Energi driving habits. Multiple charges/day. Anyways, here's the post. I wanted to ask you if you've heard of any owners getting the dealer to honor their warranty and fix the issue?

The only one I've heard of getting a battery replaced was a C-Max Energi and it was years ago.  I think once that happened, Ford severely tightened the criteria by which they will declare a battery needing replacement.  Their warranty verbiage has always stated that batteries degrade with time and use, so they have legal cover for not replacing batteries that are degraded but still working.

Dealers have been instructed to punt just to get the customer to give up.  You get this go-round between Ford corporate and the dealer.  If you push hard enough, Ford corporate will direct the dealer to offer to do a $400 test AT YOUR EXPENSE that will analyze the battery.  They then send the results to corporate and Ford says "normal" and that's it.
