  1. EV is simpler than E-9 because there is no tiering of rates. They stay the same no matter how much you use. Did you look at the bottom of page 1 and the top of page 3? It lists the total rate for EV-A and EV-B, respectively. What you are looking at is how the rate breaks down into all its subcomponents. One big difference is that EV has a peak during summer and winter, whereas the E-9 rate had a peak only during summer. The difference between the two rates will be highly dependent on your useage patterns and volume of electricity you use overall, so it's kind of hard to say.
  2. Agree with rtshinn. If it's practical for you, you might want to think about installing solar. It will change the economics of the situation and encourage you to be fossil-free.
  3. I spoke with another Ford rep this morning. They told me that they wanted me to pull & replace Fuse #10 (it is the same fuse for #10/11, so pull the one marked as #11 on the fuse box below the instrument console). This did the trick and I'm back online. I asked if it was a common problem, and they said it's not common per se but they do see it from time to time, and they're working on a fix. BTW, whoever designed the fuse box placement should have their automotive engineering credentials revoked...
  4. Hi, I tried to delete the vehicle from both the Android app, as well as the website, for MFM. No success on either -- in both cases, it logged me out and when I logged back in, the vehicle was still there. I called up the Ford helpline, and they walked me through a system reset. (By the way, it removed all my nav settings and saved places -- but not radio presets.) That did nothing to help, and the app is still acting the same. There are clearly some major quality issues in the software that Ford is using for their backend platform. Hopefully they will be able to resolve this soon.
  5. Can you post a link please? the only thing I found was the delayed reboot USB file from the ford fusion hybrid forum. Tried that but it didn't help. Remember that I upgraded Sync versions recently, which included numerous reboots and resets - didn't help with this issue that had started a few days prior.. :(
  6. Last weekend I was driving up to my family reunion in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Once I got far enough off route 50 to lose cell phone signal, my Fusion Energi stopped phoning home... It hasn't connected to My Ford Mobile since, and I can't track it or send it any commands. The vehicle locator still shows the spot where it lost coverage on Saturday. I upgraded Sync to the latest firmware yesterday, and was hoping that would fix it.... no luck. :(
  7. I also still have my Nokia 6190 "grey brick" phone. It's iconic, though I can't get the battery to hold a charge. Like everything heavily technology focused, the '13 Fusion Energi will be iconic, yet quaint.. we're going to laugh at the 21 mile range. Speaking of which, as tech improves, the only think that would make me want to keep it long term is a retrofit kit for a longer range battery pack.
  8. Has anyone else experienced this? at 72 degrees, the climate control pumps out pretty cool air, slightly uncomfortable with short sleeves, but in hot weather generally ok. When I hike it up a degree to 73, the air almost totally shuts off, the interior gets stuffy over the next 20 minutes, and it generally is way too hot? I feel like Goldilocks here, but it's really weird and happens with a variety of outside temperatures. Is this is a problem with my car, or is the calibration /software used for climate control just generally not very good?
  9. I found ambient lighting controls in the dash setup but.. my Energi Titanium doesn't seem to have the lights.. This was a removed feature, correct?
  10. Are there pics of these new colors anywhere? I'm curious since I really like the bordeaux color, wondering what they're replacing it with..
  11. OK here it is folks.. I couldn't wait until tomorrow so I picked it up this evening. LOVE the car!! So awesome.
  12. Hi folks, just for interest of anyone else, here is the timeline for my Energi: Ordered: 1/28/13 Window sticker available: 3/18/13 (approx) Built: 3/25/13 on 3/30, cyberdman said it was in Yuma AZ. However, dealer said a couple days later it was in Flagstaff, AZ. Arrived in Benicia, CA (45 mi from dealer): 4/5/13 Arrived in Colma, CA @ Dealer: 4/11/13 Pick-up: tomorrow 4/13/13 Will post pics!
  13. My list is pretty similar to the OP's: - ordered the screen protection for MFT - planning on tint. My last two cars had 20-30-50 which I like. - floor mats : bought the all-weather mats for $75. Not sure if this was a good call since this is my first Ford. We'll see. - Bought the Ford Premium ESP from Flood Ford online. 7 years /100k miles. - Probably not going to do any paint protection, just keep that baby waxed. Supposed to pick up my Energi tomorrow or the day after, so excited!
  14. Interesting text review. I got annoyed by the video 1/2 way through and couldn't watch any more.. YMMV.
  15. I also test drove the Fusion Energi today. I *really* enjoyed the ride, which is a good thing since my FFE is being built in 9 days! :) My dealer (Serramonte Ford in Colma, CA) has a few FFE's in stock, and they invited me down to see if I wanted to buy one of the ones on the lot. After the test drive, I decided to stick it out for my order, since none of them have the Park Assist which I do want for the City. However, what a great experience and the people at this dealership are nothing but helpful. I didn't try out any of the radio/electronic features, but as for the driving experience, quietness, power of the electric motor, and everything else, I was quite happy. Can't wait to get my FFE!
  16. Good news! My salesman called and my vehicle, which I ordered on 1/26 (order placed 1/29) just got a build date of March 25!
  17. By the way, the online build & price tool is now allowing Sterling for the Titanium energi. So i think we're good to go!!
  18. I checked with my dealer a couple days ago. They said my order is in Unscheduled status, but still seems to be accepted. Keeping my fingers crossed. I agree with rprobst that it's a very slick color and great for guys. My neighbor has an A4 in a similar (but slightly darker and gunmetal) grey, and it's stunning. Can't wait for my energi!!
  19. Oops, you're right.. sorry about that. It's surprising that just a bigger battery causes 3-4 mpg drop..
  20. On the Ford web site, I noticed that they have released numbers for not only MPGe, but also MPG. Their combined MPG for the Fusion Energi is 43, lower than previously estimated at the same as Cmax.
  21. Well I ordered it, and the salesman / sales mgr said it was ordered. But whether Ford accepts the order and puts it in unscheduled/clean status, that's another question and I'm skeptical whether it will happen. I suppose I'll just wait and see.
  22. Thanks, can you give me a pointer or link on how to do that? I took a look at the order confirmation they sent me and it looks correct.
  23. I was originally going to order the Ice Storm blue with Sand interior. Once I found out that the Titanium is only available with dark interior, I changed my order to Sterling Gray (if possible) or silver. to my surprise, the Sales Manager told me that my order was placed with Sterling Gray, and confirmed that it was a Titanium. Not sure whether Ford will kick it back or what.. will keep you posted.
  24. Let me add a bit more specific info on California. Here, PG&E has a special rate plan for electric vehicles, E-9. This is a Time-of-Use (TOU) rate plan, meaning that the cheapest power you'll get is between midnight to 7am. There are two flavors of this plan. E-9A will use your existing meter, and your home and EV charging will fall under this rate. E-9B uses a dedicated meter (which you will need to have an electrician install), and the house stays on its existing meter with existing rate plan. E-9B is slightly cheaper. They have a web site set up specifically for this topic; see http://www.pge.com/electricvehicles/. You can even log in with your residential account, and they will use real information and estimates to calculate how much you will pay for EV power. One thing to keep in mind is that PG&E is in the middle of an application process to do away with the E-9 rate plan, and create a new EV rate plan, with rates that are approximately twice as much. This is expected to happen in late spring 2013, so if you are thinking of getting on one of these plans (and potentially installing a meter), I suggest you do it *now*, as you will be grandfathered on E-9 until at least the end of 2014.
