I cannot read or reply to text messages on my Sync 3 or MFT vehicles now that Android has upgraded to RCS messaging. I can understand that the older vehicle software is going to be stuck using MMS/SMS protocols, but does anyone know of a workaround? As a minimum you would think there would have to be some app that can duplicate your RCS messages to an SMS message for the purpose of the vehicle picking up on that, and then displaying it in Sync 3. Does anyone know of something like this, or other successful workaround or fix? I am surely not the only person that experiences this problem and would like to solve it. I don't really want to resort back to MMS/SMS on my phone if I don't have to. Maybe an ITTT or Tasker script?

Yes, I'm sure it is the same thing, but I was hoping for confirmation that was its true purpose. If that poster is still running 9 years later without it, then it must be OK to do without it. I had contacted my dealer and of course they were not familiar with it. I'm not sure how mine broke, but it might be a good thing for people to check their own, since it left screws and broken plastic rattling around in the air cleaner box, post filter. Luckily there is a grille on the intake.

I know this is an old post, but has anyone else removed that extra part in the filter cover? The bosses to mine are all broken, so I will either remove that completely, epoxy it on, or buy a new one.
