  1. Thanks for this. I was able to take this info to my dealer, and get my Energi charging again. Thanks, FFE forum!
  2. Congratulations! That's quite a statement that you filled up for the first time at 1300+ miles.
  3. I have a 2014 model, and I am at step 4 in the MFM registration-- waiting for the second confirmation message on the touch screen. And I was able to choose my vehicle color. Also, I had no problem with the system recognizing my VIN number when I entered it correctly--there was a zero that I initially entered as a capital o.
  4. I have posted photos of my trip in the gallery, album " Epic Birthday".

    Epic birthday adventure

I spent my birthday flying to the town where my new car was and driving it home. Old car: 2000 mustang convertible, blue with white top and white leather interior. New car: 2014 Fusion Energi Titamium, Deep Impact Blue with Charcoal leather interior.
  6. I had an epic birthday-- not in terms of nice round numbers, but by way of a grand adventure. I purchased my new 2014 FF Energi Titanium in Deep Impact Blue a week before my birthday. As it was 9 hours away, I was offered the choice of paying the dealership $1000 to have it delivered to me, or pick it up myself. I opted to pick it up myself. Why should I pay someone else to put the first 650 miles on my car, when I could do that and get to know the car at the same time? I flew from Little Rock, AR-- leaving my much loved Mustang tagless in the airport parking lot for the dealer to retrieve. I arrived in Cincinatti about 1:30, and took a taxi to the Alexandria, KY dealership- about 20 miles. Then, I drove the 650 miles home, all on my birthday. I was disappointed that I only got 38 mpg, but I am chalking that up to my novice driving. I used cruise control most of the way, going 72 on the freeways. Kentucky is hilly, but no more so than the Ozarks of Arkansas where I live. Will post pictures of the journey, as soon as I figure out how to do that. Thank you, forum members, for your support and advice as I went through the research and purchase process of this very fine vehicle.
  7. I have a power washer that I plan to use with the "delicate" or lowest pressure nozzle to keep mine clean. Of course that will be after we thaw out. Does anyone else use a power washer and have advice for me?
  8. New car owner. I usually keep my iPhone in WiFi only mode, saving cellular data for little emergencies on the road. Will I need to keep my cellular data on when I am in my new car to keep all the functionality of MyFordTouch, and Sync, and all that?
  9. Seriously, where would one find a dictionary of acronyms for Fusion owners?
  10. Ha, ha, ICE joke. Every punch line needs a set up. I'll let you know, shaggy314, next time I have a set up for you. :-) (Sitting on that side of the internet)
  11. My thanks to you all. I am happy to announce I am the proud new owner of a 2014 FFE Titanium in Deep Impact Blue. Photos to follow. LuAnn
  12. Yippee! I am the proud new owner of a 2014 FFE Titanium in Deep Impact Blue. It all turned out okay. The salesman felt terrible about his mistake. I suggested they make up for it by giving me a better offer on my trade in, and they did! I feel really great about the deal. MSRP was $40,225. After the tax rebate next year, the net cost of the car is $31,067 plus the cost of a one way airline ticket to pick it up just outside Cincinatti. I will do that next weekend, which will be my birthday. How perfect is that? Then I will have 900 miles or so to settle in and get to know my new ride. Of course, I will be driving, so I won't be able to refer to the owners manual. I am one happy woman!
  13. Right. I don't want to lease. It sure sounded like I was getting the $4007 twice. I even asked, "are you sure? That's some coincidence that both incentives are the exact same number".
  14. Oh, dear. I am at the dealership and they have located the FFE of my dreams. We got the price on a 2014 titanium with $3000 in extras down to $30,182 by agreeing to finance the minimum of $7500 (a $4007 rebate for that) and using the x-plan price (MCA, about $2000 discount for that), and planning on $4007 tax rebate next year. Started filling out paperwork. Turns out the discount for financing applies only if you lease. Crap, I feel like I've been sucker punched. I am now at lunch, told the salesman I needed to settle my stomach ( which I surely do! ) and walked out of the showroom. Advice anyone? Willsyaya57
  15. Thanks, Russael, for that pearl. :-) if I don't make enough money to owe the government more than $4007 next year, I may have to live in the car. Then, I really will need more trunk space!
  16. I am wanting to get the best price on a new FFE Titanium, using X-plan with MCA membership, any available tax incentives, rebates and coupons. This forum has been very helpful. My CPA tells me the 2013 and 2014 tax credit of $4007 applies if the vehicle was purchased in 2013. Is this true, and I too late to catch this incentive? I'm getting a sinking feeling about this....
  17. Originally posted om Welcome Forum: I have had several different vehicles in the past, Chevy Caprice that I bought from my dad for $1 to take to college, an "X car" gads!, a minivan for driving little kids everywhere, 2 Ford Explorers (both got handed down to kids), and my midlife car: 2000 Ford Mustang convertible. I love it to death, but it's 14 years old. I have refurbished it with a new top, headlights, windshield, buffed paint, etc, but she just doesn't make me feel like it used to. Now I am a grandmother (Ya-Ya), and need a safer car, 5 passenger, and I want to reduce my carbon footprint. Plus, I am ready for some a little luxury! I called my local dealer today (I live in rural Arkansas), and the salesman launched into a laundry list (dirty laundry) of why I don't want a hybrid, much less a plug-in hybrid. He says I'll have to drive less than 45 mph to keep the gasoline engine from kicking in, and that I should save my money and buy a regular gasoline engined car that gets almost the same mileage. He said he knew a guy whose just-out-of-warrenty car's battery pack died and he had to pay $8000 for a new one. He even told me of a man who was arrested at his child's school while attending a basketball game because he had plugged in there. There may be some truth to that, I do live in Arkansas, and we're behind the curve a bit on ecology issues. But I am passionate about it, and I want to lead the charge, rather than follow. The salesman said they won't even bring a car to their lot unless it's pre-sold. I will have to go the Little Rock to test drive the car. I commute 2 miles to work and run errands in my small town, but often travel to the grandchild's house (119 miles). This just seems perfect for me. I have been to the website and "built" my car, and it's beautiful! Sexy, sporty, and just the right shade of blue. I have briefly visited this forum of Fusion Energi enthusiasts and I know you'll help me sell this to my husband who is also seeing the pricetag. Just showing him your forum will help a bunch. I need to know: ARE there downsides to hybrids? this car? Do batteries die over time? Thanks. UpdAte: I have since found a knowledgeable salesperson in Little Rock, I am hoping to apply some of the buying tips this forum has provided to get he cost down a bit on the car of my dreams, I plan to use the X-plan as a MCA member (as of yesterday), a $750 coupon, and take the $4007 tax rebate. Oh, and I plan to take the "no haggle price" print out I found on the Buying, Leasing/ordering forum. You have all been amazingly helpful. Thank you!
  18. My state does not have the state tax incentives that CA does. If I fly to CA, to buy the car, do I get the incentive or not? Mind you, the airfare will make a serious dent in the $1500 saving.
