About ls1ssws6

  1. Maybe I am just used to the infinity system that was in my optima. I have always liked infinity so I think I'm gonna stick with them. As far as the ohms, I was gonna just replace the speakers myself, what should I look for when replacing? I don't wana mess anything up. I have always done my own systems but never on a new car so I don't wana foul anything up.
  2. Just curious if anyone else seems to feel that the Sony system is a little "quiet" for lack of better terms. I came from an Infinity stock system in my Kia Optima which I LOVED. It seems that it over powers the Sony in highs, lows and mids. I seem to have to turn the Sony up considerably higher to get a decent sound. I saw a post on here with the guy who switched to Polk speakers. I want to switch to something else but 1, I am kinda nervous to pull apart the doors in a brand new car and start tinkering (have done it in other used cars but nothing brand new) , 2 I want to make sure I get something that is going to give me crisp highs and nice mids and lows without breaking the bank, and 3 I want something that is going to be plug and play and don't have to do any modifications to the existing housings. So if anyone has suggestions on what brands they would go with and if there are any step by steps on how to remove the door panels without breaking clips or cracking panels. Also if it helps I mainly listen to hip hop, rap and clubby techno music. Thanks in advance guys
  3. Yea I figured all that stuff BUT it seems like the EV has been going quickly since the lights went in. Before the lights when I had the 20s on it I was doing great with the EV mileage. I actually got 40 miles on it one time...dunno how but I did it lol I'm on my way home from work now, when I get in I'll post pictures of my halos,20s and all the other small mods. And yes I still have my trans am, 2001 NHRA edition. Heads can exhaust intake and a few other goodies lol I save gas with my energi for my trans to guzzle hahah
  4. I see a few different options on the left buy can't find one that tells exactly how much power I'm using. And as far as the wheels I got lightweight wheels that are only 6 pounds more per wheel so with the tire I'd say roughly 50 or so more than stock which I think is negligible. When I drive on the highway I turn it to EV later, actually I drove the same trip today and the mileage didn't fluctuate on the EV battery range the entire time so maybe it just had to relearn my driving like you said. And I never use the air cause it makes me sad to see it drop from 20ish down to 14ish with just turning on the AC haha. I think that is what it was just relearning if they had to disconnect the battery cause today's trip was pretty good.
  5. First off sorry if this is in the wrong spot but I think it is. I leased my 14 energi Titanium June 4th and have LOVED it so far. The day I got it I put 20 inch rims on it which I know may take a mile or 2 from the EV range but still have done pretty good on managing regen and have stretched the range pretty well, well at least it has made me happy. I actually have only used 1/2 tank total of gas but that's cause I took about 4 highway trips. ANYWAY getting to the real question. I just got HID low beam/fogs, halos, and demon eyes from dynamik (AWSOME) and had them installed. I have driven it twice since adding that setup and have seemed like the EV miles go down pretty quickly. I looked and I was at 8 miles at .7 then it dropped to 7 miles about .4 of the next mileage if that makes sense. That's also with regen. Does this seem normal? I mean I just did the math on that but I know its about the same for the rest of the EV battery. Is there a way to reset it or could the halos be drawing THAT MUCH of the battery mileage??? Secondly when I'm on the highway I select EV later but notice the EV battery range still goes down. Not much but slowly, just wondering if this is normal? Thanks for the help
  6. Awesome! I leased my energies so I'll only be getting 525 but its 525 more than I had before September :)
  7. yea basically just for the look. i know some wont agree but I want to make the car look as nice as possible. I am actually gettin dynamik to do some halo/hid/demon eyes for me. cant wait for them to come in!
  8. Over on the 2g forum a guy purchased drilled and slotted rotors from R1 concepts. I was just curious if those rotors or any aftermarket rotor for that matter will swap out on the energis? I dont know with the battery regen on the brakes if i can get swappable rotors or have to keep the factories? any input would be appreciated thanks
  9. waiting for the car :whistling: have aout 5 things just waiting to get done to the car that is probably still being pieced together on the production line lol
  10. Yea I went to the rim store and picked out my wheels. I have had lowered cars only problem now is that the entrance to my driveway is kind of steep but nothing a hard turn in wont solve lol ill be sure to post pictures when A I get the car and B when I get my wheels and stuff on it
  11. yea i figured the lost MPG would be minimal. That white energi is VERY clean in my opinion. I think that stance and those wheels are perfect. Makes me feel good about my 20'' decision. Thanks for sending me that link it really helped me make my mind up.
  12. appreciate the input. I know i would have to get different springs to combat the gap issue but ill see how it looks after installing them and go from there. I know it will be a littler harsher of a ride but thats ok with me. I was looking at 18s but for only a few bucks more i could go 19 or 20. I still have a few weeks to decide. I will be sure to post pictures though
  13. yea i am a police officer and had a bad encounter with someone who saw me in my car and it turned pretty ugly so now i tint ALL windows in my car. It makes it harder to drive at night but now im used to it, i dont fly around anyway so it should be ok. is the day/night sensor in the same spot?
