Unless you're looking to haul skis, you're going to be out of luck. It is a pass-through, but a very small space.

Aren't most of us that are interested in a PHEV not necessarily in it to save money, but more because of the green factor anyways? I do agree that this technology won't be adopted by the masses unless the cost savings to become more apparent.

On the 'other' forum there was a writeup about speed. The person there figured the top speed only applies to EVNow mode and not to the normal hybrid driving mode. http://www.myfusionenergi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=77

There is a pass through - it's small, but should work for skis or a snowboard, maybe 2.
