  1. Today FedEx dropped off my $850 check for mileage/window sticker. I was surprised it came so quickly. I bought my FFE used back in March. I must have dumb persons luck getting it before most, unless others have received and not posted yet. The funny thing is that I traded in a Kia Optima hybrid that I drove for 75,000 miles in 2 years and they too had a rebate program because of incorrectly stated mpg on the window sticker. Their program was paid out by the mile based on the error adjustment on the window. I received about $300 back from Kia for the sticker being off 1mpg, other Kia models paid out much, much more. This $850 pays a car payment and most of the charger I installed when I got the FFE. I really want the LED/HID headlight combos I have seen out there though. Hmmmmm........
  2. About 3-5 above posted speeds. I had to fill up each day. One day I put almost 13.5 gallons.
  3. I drove 1732 miles this week with only the initial charge. I got 43.5mpg with about 85% freeway. Not too bad considering. I used AC about 90% of the time. Construction zones definitely helped! OHio-MI-IN-Il-WI-MN-WI-Il-IN-Ohio See attached pic from trip.
  4. I think it is time to change my car wash. Every time I go through this one automatic car wash, it pops open my truck and my driver seat moves to an odd position along with both mirrors. It only happens at this one particular car wash, UGH, Interesting.
  5. I drive about 750-1000 miles a week and my avg mpg has been about 43. I am pretty happy worth that. If I drive more on the weekend when I can charge more often that is a bonus. I came from a Kia Optima getting about 37 mpg and even at only 6mpg improvement I am seeing a savings. It helps that I got a killer deal on a used 2013 Energi with only 5k miles and it has far more tech than the Kia. I get reimbursed by the mile so essentially my fuel and monthly payment are covered with some to spare. I installed a level 2 charger so on the weekends so I can charge and drive a few times each day if needed on EV ONLY. I have been lucky to find a few hotels where I stay that allow me to charge overnight too.
  6. Hello! I was the one that found a Ford exec car 2013 with 5k miles. It had everything except for the sunroof. I got it for 28500 before tax/fees. Ford even had 1.9% financing. I would have liked a sunroom. Might install one, but it looks like they are $1000. I am going to try to file for the $4007 tax rebate for 2014 and see what happens. No regrets with the purchase. I do drive mostly highway miles for my lifetime is 43.6 right now with about 90% highway. Compared to the Kia Optima hybrid I was driving before mileage is up about 10%, I am paying about 20% less in car payment per month. Insurance is slightly higher. The tech on the Fusion is leagues above the Ford!
  7. Update....the reps from the charger handle came to my house to see tp what was going on. They discovered that the charge port on the car was moved slight to the left. They also observed this on a few C-Maxs on dealer lot. These folks also make OEM handles for a few European car companies, they would not say who. There was also a piece of rubber seal that was blocking part of the inner ring. After "forcing " it to latch it worked fine and was not able to be disconnected while charging. I now can connect correctly, but it still takes some effort vs how easily the charger that came with the car can do. They said the were meeting with Ford in Detroit next week and took plenty of pictures. The Ford charger handle is slightly narrower than the GE but both are within specs. The bottle line, is now it works as intended, just takes a little extra effort. I am not sure what if anything they will do next.
  8. Update..... I have a rep from the supplier of the connector coming out to my home to look at the charger and the replacement connector they sent out. Hoping for the best.
  9. I don't think there is anything in the charging socket, as the OEM charger works and "clicks" in place just fine. I did compare the two side by side and the little hook that is supposed to hold it in place and "click" is slightly different in each one, This is why I was wondering if anyone else with the GE Wattstation was experiencing anything similar. It has acted this way since I had it installed.
  10. That's exactly the issue, I told them it was charging without physically latching. They did not believe me, or acted stumped when I described what was happening. It works, it doesn't always start charging right alway and I have to wiggle or try again before it works.
  11. Hello! I recently had installed a GE Wattstation level II charger. I seems to be having an issue and wondering of others with the GE have seen similar. Immediately, I noticed upon trying to charge with it that it does not have the same "click" when attaching the charger cord to the car like the OEM 120v charger does. Even though I press the thumb button. I cannot get it to connect properly and sometimes it takes several tries before it begins charging. This is very frustrating. Sometimes it connects and charges and others it does not, but never do I hear the "click" like the OEM charger. Also, I have noticed that if I wiggle the cord while it is charging it stops charging and I can detach it without using the thumb button. Is this safe? So, I called GE and explained the issue. They said that they have never heard of such and issue, because it does charge, only take a few tries. I am thinking it should be first try only with a "click" when it is attached correctly. I did get GE to send me a new cord and handle, but does the same thing. It does not attch correctly and there is not a "click" when attaching, When It works the first time it is awesome, when it finally connects no issue, but this alsomt never happens on the first try. What do you think I should do next since the first now the second cord and handle seem to the the same? Design flaw? Is it an issue with my charging port (OEM works perfect with a "click" every time it attached)? I am baffled. Has anyone else with the GE Wattstation had a similar issues, does your connect perfect first time each uptime used? Help. Mike
  12. Thank you everyone for the info, VERY helpful! Although, I did not read it anywhere I was under the impression that once the battery was changed while in hybrid mode, the battery would kick in at highway speeds and the engine would shut off for a short, short time, then the engine would charge up the battery (at least portion used for hybrid mode) and then repeat, over and over. This was the experience for the last hybrid I drove and assumed the Energi would do the same. I just have not seen this yet. I did try to drive on a fully charged battery at 75mph and it in deed did work at that speed. Yesterday I saw only 30mpg at 72mph over 80 miles (reset trip). I was less than happy about that, and did not see the engine shut off once. What I did notice was ever so slight EV assistance to the ICE at times, but not often and not full EV. I was in EV later mode, I wonder if in AUTO mode it might kick on/in and run on EV for short times with engine shut off? Thoughts? I want so much to get the most out of my car. Again - all help and suggestion welcome! I have learned so much since I purchased my Energi, and I thought I knew a lot before I made the decision to purchase one. Mike
  13. Thanks.... I think I will try empower and watch the on/off threshold, and see what I find. Thanks!
  14. Sorry for the poor typing in the earlier post. I am in engage so I can see both the engine and EV energy usage. My Energi is a very very early build it was first registered in 12/12 to Ford. I bought it used. Is there a TSB to enable the EV usage upto 85mph? I see there one for the hybrids, but could fund anything on the Energi's. Today I drove 300 highway miles and again I did not see the engine shut off once while using ACC. It was set between 70 and 75. When I set it for 60mph and cruise I do see the engine shut off and go EV, even if for a short time. Thanksmfor the help!
  15. I do have it in Engage but not once did ii see it use EV only, been for Jura short period of tome. Mutha t's why I was wondering if there is anTSB like for the hybrids that raised the mph that EV would kick in. I I lower cruise to 60mph I see it happen, but it never happened at 70mph. My car is a n early production Energi, that is why I was wondering if maybe there was a TSB like the hybrids that in part addressed this among other things that effect mpg.
  16. Eric4539, what am not seeing is it going into EV at all when on the highway. This is also Adaptive Cruise and climate off.me this is what confuses me. I was hoping to see at least some EV while using cruise on the highway.
  17. If I am on the highway, I would want it on auto I thought, as EV Now would exhaust the battery in no time. Am I wrong in this thinking?
  18. Hello! Today I took one of my first longer drives and noticed that when driving with cruise set at 72mph I never saw the car go into EV mode, even if for a short period. I did see it assist the ICE a few times, but never run fully on EV mode. My Kia Optima Hybrid would do this about once every couple of minutes or so as the battery was mostly charged. I did see in the Fusion Hybrid forum that there was a TSB for this for them, did it apply to Energi's as well? When not using cruise I can make it go into EV mode, but only at 60mph or less. Thoughts? Thanks!
  19. Hello! I have a quick question about the battery display when using EV Later. I am not sure if it possible or have not figured out how to display the hybrid charge portion of the battery when EV later is being used, I would like to see what the state of charge is for the battery when in hybrid mode and I cannot figure it out. Is this possible or am I stuck seeing only the remaining range of the full battery for EV Later when in hybrid mode. I hope this makes sense. Thanks!
  20. Is there a way to disable the tone every time the navigation gives a direction? I found how to disable the voice, but the tone is still there. What is dislike most is how it turns down the volume of whatever is on, music or phone, etc. It is very bothersome when on the phone and you cannot hear what is being said. Has anyone found a way to disable the "muting"? Thanks!
  21. Thanks everyone! I plan on taking part of the day setting everything up. I did some tonight.
  22. Hello! I am excited to announce that I am now the proud owner of a 2013 Deep Impact Blue Metallic Energi. It is used, but with only 5k miles and full remaining warrenty. I paid 28k for it and it stickered for 44.5K - almost fully loaded except for moonroof, I feel like I got a good deal, but all comments are welcome. I traded in my Kia Optima Hybrid with 75K miles, yes I do a lot a highway driving, especially compared to the average owners here. I will report how I manage, but the FFE was about 10% better than the KOH on the highway, and the ENERGI part is just icing on the cake, so I am excited. I believe that my learning curve may be short for mileage, but anticipate multiple questions on systems and features. I will always try to search for existing topics if I can. Woo-Hoo - excited here. Now to get a level 2 charger and install. This happened a little sooner than I planned.
  23. Is there a website to see if the rebate was taken? If it was registered to Ford Motor, would they take the rebate? if it was sold at auction, would the buyer be eligible for the rebate? this certainly would help making a decision? Thanks!
