They currently have the (pretty much) only mid-sized PHEV and hybrid SUVs out there. Rather than leaning into them, they're abandoning for "more popular variants" aka gasoline only versions. Personally I think Ford erred when they didn't bring the Explorer PHEV to the US but instead made it a Europe only option. I would have bought one. A vehicle that can run all elec around town, yet can still go 300+ miles towing my boat is a win-win to me. Yeah, they had the Aviator, but that was ~$10k more. Already too high. Thoughts?
