Great car to this point This morning it will not start. You hit the button and the it does not come on and every warning signal for just about everything comes up on the display from the BLISS to the coolant being to hot. All I did was put air in one tire that was 5 lbs low as the tire warning came on yesterday. The elec seats wont move, lights come on in the cabin but no headlights. I thought maybe the battery was dead or dying. So I tried to jump. No difference. Then I read about doing a reset. So I unhooked the battery for about 15 mins and no difference. Any ideas? I do not suppose Ford provides loaners?You should have free roadside assistance from Ford. Each Ford dealer seems to set their own policy regarding rentals/loaners. Battery test went fine the first time but then on a second test it was showing a problem. They changed out the battery and it made no difference. They can not figure out what the issue is.They are pulling some specialist in who knows hybirds to look at it. Looking at computer issues, etc etc. They did give us a rental car. Hopefully they will figure this out soon. We purchased My fiance drives the car and really enjoys it. She gets right at 52 mpg avg per day on her 120 mile daily round trip to work and back. There are a couple of small wires that end up laying on a fairly sharp metal edge just in front of the 12 volt battery. There is a TSB or a notice (I don't remember) about it. I wrapped mine with foam and electrical tape. There also has been at least one instance of the keypad on the B pillar failing to go to sleep and draining the battery. It is completely dead.It had been plugged in since Thursday.We tried a jump and nothing. Found the posts under the hood (from a post on this forum) and it's like it is completely dead.Can not get in the trunk to the battery. Isn't there a release handle in the trunk? Shined a light through the hole in back seat but could not see it, I think a piece of luggage is covering it up.Any ideas? This is the second time in a year. murphy Posted September 4, 2016 at 06:52 PM Report Share Posted September 4, 2016 at 06:52 PM Connecting a fully charged 12 volt battery or a battery charger to the posts under the hood and letting it sit for a while should bring the voltage up enough to start the system. Leaving the charger hooked up does not keep the 12 volt battery charged. A 12 volt battery charger is required to do that.
